president of Boise Bible College (Idaho), succeeding Kenneth
Beckman..... Cecil H. Underwood, former Governor of West
Virginia, is the new president of Bethany College, succeeding
Perry Epler Gresham.... Dr. Ward A. Rice retired from Northwest
Christian College, Eugene, Oregon, after 28 years of teaching....
It was my privilege to be one of the instructors in the Family
Camp at Macrorie, Saskatchewan, where 108 registered for a
thrilling experience. The other regular instructor was Ed Benoit,
a faithful preacher and representative in the Provincial
Parliament of Alberta.... All hearts rejoiced at the immersion of
Malcolm Banting during the week.... The total registration for
the North American Christian Convention, held at Cincinnati was
about 54,000, with the total attendance of the gathering in
Riverfront Stadium on the final night about 26,000. It fell my
lot to substitute as speaker for Joe Barnett, Lubbock, Texas, who
could not come because of illness. The convention next year will
be held in Indianapolis, July 10-13.... My heart is saddened by
the loss of friends and brethren in recent months. Among them I
must mention Harry Bucalstein, of the Hebrew Christian Mission,
with whom I have been on the platform many times; Leroy Munger,
Des Moines, Iowa, whom I have known and respected for many years;
and Trueman Sterner, Franklin, Nebraska, who was indeed a brother
beloved in the Lord and a great strength to me. Our brother,
James DeForest Murch, lost his dear wife and our sympathy attends
him in this time of distress and grief.... Gordon Wilson is a
good friend of Mrs. Harry Rimmer, who resides in California. She
made available to him previously unpublished sermon outlines of
Dr. Rimmer, and Gordon has compiled them into an attractive book.
These are outlines that are different, and you can secure a copy

The July issue of this periodical was a beautiful and
well-written piece of literature.... Pat E. Harrell reports that
the Biblical Studies Center at the University of Texas is the
largest religious group with 130 students enrolled. Second in
size is the Roman Catholic Center with 126.... Joe Shulem has
established three congregations in Israel, at Jerusalem, Lod and
Bat Yam. The Galilee Christian School, directed by Ernest
Stewart, is doing a real work among Arab youths.... Johnny Comer,
Portis Ribble, Tom Williams, Lyndon Latham and N. E. Rhodes, Jr.,
combined their exceptional writing talents to produce an
especially attractive issue of The Christian Appeal for
July. We salute them in the Lord Jesus for an excellent job....
We note with sadness the report by our brother, J. C. Bunn, of
the death of his wife on June 17. Brother Bunn, now 90 years of
age, lives in Seattle, Washington. He announced my first
preaching engagement and encouraged me to enter the work which I
love more than life.... Do you want to present a beautiful gift
