have lost several friends lately by the hand of death, among them J. Ed Uland, of Lorraine, Ohio;
Vesta Ellis, of Hartford, Illinois; and T. J. Larkin of Springfield, Missouri.... I am thrilled to
learn that my brother, Jeff L. Smith, is the rehabilitation coordinator, medical-legal division
(maximum security) of the Arizona State Hospital.... The second Christian Couples Conference
will be held at French Lick-Sheraton Hotel, French Lick, Indiana, March 15-17, with a
tremendous program. It is sponsored by Purdue Christian Campus House, 1000 State Street,

During the missionary conference in Brazil a special "This is Your Life" program was held for
David and Ruth Sanders, celebrating twenty-five years of missionary effort in that country....
Thirteen students from
different Christian Colleges went to the Philippines to assist native brethren. One of the students,
Ron Arney, lost his life when attacked by a shark while swimming in the waters near Aparri....
We rejoice to learn that Allen Boyts, one of the elders at James River Chapel, near Springfield,
Missouri, immersed four adults during December.... Raymond Alber was the featured speaker
at the Annual Arizona Christian Convention in Phoenix, held February 20-22.... Woodrow
Phillips spoke at the World Vision Crusade in Grand Junction, Colorado, February 6-8....
Abraham Malherbe was inducted into the Bethany College Associates with five other Disciples
of Christ preachers. Brother Malherbe, associate professor at Yale Divinity School, was formerly
an instructor at Abilene Christian College.... You can secure a free copy of "What About Divorce
