William Herbert Hanna's Thomas Campbell: Seceder and Christian Union Advocate was first published by Standard Publishing Company in 1935. The book was reprinted, without copyright notice, by College Press in 1986. The electronic edition has been produced from the College Press reprint; the original title and copyright pages have been included for reference.

      The electronic text differs from the printed edition in the following particulars: (1) Footnotes of the printed text, designated by printer's devices, have been treated as sequentially numbered endnotes in the electronic text. (2) In the electronic version, extended quotations have been set off as block quotations; additionally, extended quotations by Thomas Campbell have been set in Century Schoolbook typeface. (3) Pagination has been represented by placing the page number in brackets following the last complete word on the printed page.

      I have let stand variations and inconsistencies in the author's use of italics, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. Emendations are as follows:
