Major Changes from the Original Found in Later Editions
This section treats the major changes that have
occurred in reprintings of parts or all of the Christian
Baptist. The material deleted or added to the original and/or
the later editions of the Baptist is listed or noted.
Preface to Burnet Material
The following material is composed of the titles of
articles that are either deleted from the original edition
of the Christian Baptist or added in the Burnet edition.
The page numbers beside the deleted material indicate
where the material is located in the original edition.
The page numbers beside the added material indicate where
the material is found in the Burnet edition. The articles
are listed in the chronological order as they are found in
the volumes. Brackets indicate titles supplied for this
index. Double brackets indicate information supplied for
the index.
The Burnet edition is a condensation of the original
seven volume edition of the Baptist. D. S. Burnet deleted
material which he considered to be extraneous, to give room
for one hundred of Campbell's major essays found in the [93]
Baptist. Burnet considered these essays and topics to be of
the most important on the subjects discussed.{1}
