From New Haven, Ohio.
BRO. FORNEY.--After closing the meeting, I last reported Brother Thomas James and myself came to New Haven, Huron county, Ohio, and held a meeting of nearly five weeks, in the M. E. meeting-house. Brother J. L. Jenner was with us one week and rendered excellent service. We also had the assistance of Elder Dim, of the Free will Baptist denomination. These brethren have our thanks; also our Methodist brethren, for the use of the house.
The meeting resulted as follows: forty-two professed conversion; twenty-two were immersed, and a Church of God was formed consisting of thirty-eight recognized members. Others intend soon to be baptized and fellowshiped.
We have moved to New Haven and find ourselves surrounded with many kind friends. The prospect here for the upbuilding of the Church of God is very good. Both the Methodists and Baptists have run down to a mere remnant. The Baptists have opened their house for the use of other societies, which, when required, will furnish us with a comfortable place of worship for the present. The cause of God is flourishing and Babylon is tumbling down in these parts.
