ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC EDITION.

The electronic edition of Living Messages (Louisville, KY: Word and Work, [1949]) has been produced from a copy of the book held by the Disciples of Christ Historical Society. No date of publication appears on the title page; however, a sales promotional note in Word and Work 44 (February 1950), p. 42, begins: "The Book 'Living Messages, '48,' which was published last fall, contains twelve sermons from twelve outstanding preachers . . ." This establishes the date 1949.

Pagination in the electronic version has been represented by placing the page number in brackets following the last complete word on the printed page. Inconsistencies in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and typography have been retained; however, corrections have been offered for misspellings and other accidental corruptions.
