P. J. Kernodle Lives of Christian Ministers (1909) |
REV. TAPLEY BOLDING.
EV. TAPLEY BOLDING was ordained to the office
of Elder at Bethel church in Chatham county, North
Carolina, in 1835, and the Elders officiating were Littlejohn
Utley and John Hatley. He had represented Bethel
church in the Conference at Pleasant Spring in Wake
county, in 1834. The Conference in 1835 was held at
Moore Union, in Moore county, October 2nd to 5th, and [223]
the introductory sermon was preached by Elder T. Bolding.
At this Conference he was appointed a fraternal
messenger to the Freewill Baptist Association. In 1836,
he was in attendance upon the North Carolina Christian
Conference in Chatham county.
In 1840, he was enrolled as a member of the North Carolina Conference which met at Bethel in Chatham county. No further record of him appears or has fallen under our notice, but tradition says that he connected himself with the Baptists.
