Our Great Need
In any area where freedom of thought and speech is encouraged, there
will arise differences of opinion. Such differences are indications of a healthful state of affairs.
They prove that men are thinking for themselves. Regimentation and conformity generally
produce spiritual sterility. But we need to be patient and long-suffering with those who do not
agree with us. We tend to become enthused about a thing, and conclude that every other person
ought to be equally enthused. Let us give men time to study and formulate convictions. Let us
weigh all sides of every issue. A man is cowardly indeed who will condemn that which he
refuses to read or study.
