In the August edition of The Pattern, Larry Jonas reviews the book, "The Genesis Flood" by John C. Whitcomb and Henry M. Morris, and says, "Every teacher and preacher of the Word should have this book. Every Christian in the fields of science and education should have this book." We say, Amen!... We extend our sympathy to Bob Craig, editor of Bible Banner, Lometa, Texas, who recently lost his father.... Gordon R. Linscott, editor of The Word and Work, writes in his August issue, of his changing attitude toward the love of which Paul speaks in I Corinthians 13. Others of us have shared the same experience.... The Gospel Guardian is reproducing material from the pen of Bro. Foy E. Wallace, written several years ago, to offset the effect of a lengthy article which he wrote for The Firm Foundation and which was reproduced in Gospel Advocate. Brother Wallace was not at all commendatory of our effort to encourage a sense of brotherhood and fellowship among the heirs of the restoration movement.... Readers of Christian Standard can be grateful that our brother, James DeForest Murch, keeps them so well-informed of current movements in the religious world generally. His article "Today in Christendom" is informative and documented.... Irvin Himmel, editor of Apostolic Doctrine, has done a good job in his article "Discrepancies Between Jehovah's Word and Jehovah's Witnesses".... Brother Archie Word gives some very excellent and practical advice to preachers in his articles entitled "Think of This--Preachers!" as published in The Voice of Evangelism.... We appreciate a great deal the editorial "Where The Power Is" as written by Reuel Lemmons for the August 4 edition of The Firm Foundation.... Under the heading "The Speech of Ashdod," Leslie Diestelkamp warns in Truth Magazine that we should recapture the language of the Holy Spirit and purge our speech of the false usage of terms so prevalent today. We agree with our brother wholeheartedly.... Among the magazines, not edited by men directly connected with our own restoration movement, but read with profit, we'd like to mention Old Faith Contender. Published in Elon College, North Carolina, by W. J. Berry, this little journal exhibits a nature and spirit which all of us could well imitate.... The August issue of The Christian Appeal is very attractive and dedicated to "The Abundant Life."... Gospel Tidings contains the text of a speech by G. B. Shelburne, Jr., on "Brethren Dwelling Together in Unity" in its August issue and it is a good one.
