Notes by the Way
If you are a college student or faculty
member, a brother in Tennessee will send you MISSION MESSENGER
for one year, without obligation. The only requirement is that
you personally request the paper and send name, address, and name
of college you are attending, or in which you are teaching. A
post card will do. Address the request to MISSION MESSENGER, 139
Signal Hill Drive, Saint Louis, Missouri 63121.
---------------
You are invited to attend a series of forums
on the subject of fellowship to be held at 2303 South Tyler
Street, Dallas, Texas, June 15 through 18. This seminar will
present men of every segment of the restoration movement who are
a part of "the fellowship of the concerned." It will be a meeting
of free men in Christ who have the courage to face up
realistically to contemporary problems. For information write to
Leroy Garrett, 1201 Windsor Drive, Denton, Texas, or telephone
382-2661.
Bound copies of MISSION MESSENGER for 1964
are now ready for distribution and this 192 page, fully indexed
book bears the title "The Brotherhood of Faith." Contained in it
are some of the most challenging chapters you will have the
privilege of reading. The material brings you into the very
vortex of the current discussions on unity and fellowship, and
the price is just $2.95 Per copy.
-------------------
In our April issue we will present, in
addition to other material, articles on "Analysis of Apostasy";
"The Unrecognized Unity"; and "The Church--Institution or
Adaptation." The last will be by Vernon W. Hurst. We will prove
that brethren are being labeled apostates by those who do not
even know what the word means. You'll enjoy this discussion of a
"twisted scripture." At the end of 1965 there will be printed
only 2000 copies of this material in book form under the heading
"The Twisted Scriptures." Reservations are being taken for the
book now.

Our sister in Christ, Louise Broseh, Odessa,
Texas, departed this life on December 31, after a long battle
with cancer. We send sincere sympathy to our brother, Jess
Broseh, a gospel preacher whom we love in the Lord.... Our hearts
are saddened by the departure of our brother, Everett Allen,
Denver, Colorado, who lost a valiant struggle against leukemia,
on February 4. This will not change the status of the request
made on page 47 of this issue, for blood donors, as many
contributions will be needed to make up the deficiency.... We
commend Robert W. Lawrence, Worcester, Massachusetts, upon his
scholarly article "The Baptismal Formula" as it appeared in
Firm Foundation, February 2. We extend commendation to the
editor, Reuel Lemmons, for making available material of this
type.... Those who wish extra copies of this issue of MISSION
MESSENGER can secure them at the rate of ten for one dollar. We
recommend that you not delay in ordering them, as the supply is
limited and will soon be exhausted.
