Book Talk

Through the years we have received a number of calls for History of the Church through the Ages, by Robert Brumback. We regretted that we could not fill the requests, but are glad to announce now that we have secured a limited number of these outstanding books which we formerly published. The large and attractive volume retains its price of $5.00 and it is a bargain.

Occasionally I read a book which so impresses me that I simply want to share it with all of my brethren, regardless of which segment of the brotherhood they represent. Such a volume is Christ the Controversialist, by John R. W. Stott. It is $2.50 in paperback, but it is worth every penny of it. I consider this to be one of the most informative volumes for those who work with college youth that I have ever read. I think that most of you

will find material in it which you will weave into many of your talks. Since the author is an Anglican there will be some things in his treatise with which you will disagree, but the wealth of expository material far outweighs these.

Our own bound volume of MISSION MESSENGER for 1970 will soon be ready for mailing. It is a lovely piece of work, with 192 pages, fully-indexed, and with a beautiful silver dustjacket. Repeatedly brethren have told us that the series of lessons on the pattern concept constituted the most important teaching that I have ever done. We are glad that all of the messages will now be obtainable in one book. Those who order before March 1, may secure the book for only $2.67, and this is a great buy in these days of heavy costs. The title is Our Living Pattern. Other bound volumes remaining are: Path of Peace, Deep Roots, Apples of Gold, and God's Community. We regret that the 1969 volume Christian Commandos is sold out. These books seem to become more valuable when no longer obtainable as some offer premium prices for those they do not have.
