Ashley S. Johnson Condensed Biblical Cyclopedia (1896) |
ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC EDITION.
The first edition of Ashley Johnson's Condensed Biblical Cyclopedia was published in 1893; the second, in 1896. The second edition was later reprinted under the title The Busy Man's Bible Encyclopedia. This electronic edition of Ashley S. Johnson's Condensed Biblical Cyclopedia was prepared from the second edition of the book. Thanks to Carrie Beth Lowe of Glass Memorial Library, Johnson Bible College, for her help in determining the facts concerning editions and printings.
The text was released into the public domain in 1996 as note files for the Online Bible. Archives of the files are available at the Bible Foundation e-Texts Library.
Pagination in the electronic version has been represented by placing the page number in brackets following the last complete word on the printed page. In the printed text, each article is presented as a single paragraph; in the electronic version, paragraphing has been added for each of the numbered points in the article. Inconsistencies in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and typography have been retained; however, corrections have been offered for misspellings, misnumberings, and other accidental corruptions. Emendations are as follows:
