EV. GEORGE A. SWIFT belonged to the North Carolina and Virginia Christian Conference. He died in the year 1839, at an advanced age.

      Elder Swift was, at the General Meeting and [61] Conference at New Providence in 1830. He seems only to have attended the Conference meetings at New Providence in his later years, whether from age or location, we are not able to say definitely. He attended the Conference in 1834 and in 1837, and was chosen Moderator of the latter meeting. The report of his death is recorded in the minutes of the Conference held at Lebanon (Old), in Surry county, Virginia, in 1839.
