ABOUT THE ELECTRONIC EDITION.

      The electronic edition of William Baxter's Life of Elder Walter Scott, Centennial Edition, ed. B. A. Abbott, has been produced from a copy of the printed text held by the Disciples of Christ Historical Society. It was published by The Bethany Press (St. Louis, MO: 1926). The electronic edition has been produced from text scanned by Colvil Smith and formatted by Ernie Stefanik.

      Pagination in the electronic version has been represented by placing the page number in brackets following the last complete word on the printed page. In the printed text, extended quotations are set in a smaller type; in the electronic text, they are set off as block quotations. Inconsistencies in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and typography have been retained; however, corrections have been offered for misspellings and other accidental corruptions.
