3:1  admone illos principibus et             1.   Put them in mind to be subject to
potestatibus subditos esse dicto             principalities and powers, to obey
oboedire ad omne opus bonum paratos esse     magistrates, to be ready to every good
                                             work,

3:2  neminem blasphemare non litigiosos      2.   To speak evil of no man, to be no
esse modestos omnem ostendentes              brawlers, but gentle, shewing all
mansuetudinem ad omnes homines               meekness unto all men.

3:3  eramus enim et nos aliquando            3.   For we ourselves also were
insipientes increduli errantes               sometimes foolish, disobedient,
servientes desideriis et voluptatibus        deceived, serving divers lusts and
variis in malitia et invidia agentes         pleasures, living in malice and envy,
odibiles odientes invicem                    hateful, and hating one another.

3:4  cum autem benignitas et humanitas       4.   But after that the kindness and
apparuit salvatoris nostri Dei               love of God our Saviour toward man

3:5  non ex operibus iustitiae quae          5.   Not by works of righteousness

3:6  quem effudit in nos abunde per          6.   Which he shed on us abundantly
Iesum Christum salvatorem nostrum            through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

3:7  ut iustificati gratia ipsius            7.   That being justified by his grace,
heredes simus secundum spem vitae            we should be made heirs according to
aeternae                                     the hope of eternal life.

3:8  fidelis sermo est et de his volo        8.   This is a faithful saying, and
te confirmare ut curent bonis operibus       these things I will that thou affirm
praeesse qui credunt Deo haec sunt bona      constantly, that they which have
et utilia hominibus                          believed in God might be careful to
                                             maintain good works. These things are
                                             good and profitable unto men.

3:9  stultas autem quaestiones et            9.   But avoid foolish questions, and
genealogias et contentiones et pugnas        genealogies, and contentions, and
legis devita sunt enim inutiles et vanae     strivings about the law; for they are
                                             unprofitable and vain.

3:10  hereticum hominem post unam et         10.   A man that is an heretick after
secundam correptionem devita                 the first and second admonition reject;

3:11  sciens quia subversus est qui          11.   Knowing that he that is such is
eiusmodi est et delinquit proprio            subverted, and sinneth, being condemned
iudicio condemnatus                          of himself.

3:12  cum misero ad te Arteman aut           12.   When I shall send Artemas unto
Tychicum festina ad me venire Nicopolim      thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come
ibi enim statui hiemare                      unto me to Nicopolis: for I have
                                             determined there to winter.

3:13  Zenan legis peritum et Apollo          13.   Bring Zenas the lawyer and
sollicite praemitte ut nihil illis desit     Apollos on their journey diligently,
                                             that nothing be wanting unto them.

3:14  discant autem et nostri bonis          14.   And let our's also learn to
operibus praeesse ad usus necessarios        maintain good works for necessary uses,
ut non sint infructuosi                      that they be not unfruitful.

3:15  salutant te qui mecum sunt omnes       15.   All that are with me salute thee.
saluta qui nos amant in fide gratia Dei      Greet them that love us in the faith.
cum omnibus vobis           amen            Grace be with you all. Amen.
