4:1 domini quod iustum est et aequum 1. Masters, give unto your servants
servis praestate scientes quoniam et that which is just and equal; knowing
vos Dominum habetis in caelo that ye also have a Master in heaven.
4:2 orationi instate vigilantes in ea 2. Continue in prayer, and watch in
in gratiarum actione the same with thanksgiving;
4:3 orantes simul et pro nobis ut Deus 3. Withal praying also for us, that
aperiat nobis ostium sermonis ad God would open unto us a door of
loquendum mysterium Christi propter utterance, to speak the mystery of
quod etiam vinctus sum Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
4:4 ut manifestem illud ita ut oportet 4. That I may make it manifest, as I
me loqui ought to speak.
4:5 in sapientia ambulate ad eos qui 5. Walk in wisdom toward them that are
foris sunt tempus redimentes without, redeeming the time.
4:6 sermo vester semper in gratia sale 6. Let your speech be alway with
sit conditus ut sciatis quomodo grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may
oporteat vos unicuique respondere know how ye ought to answer every man.
4:7 quae circa me sunt omnia vobis 7. All my state shall Tychicus declare

4:8 quem misi ad vos ad hoc ipsum ut 8. Whom I have sent unto you for the

4:9 cum Onesimo carissimo et fideli 9. With Onesimus, a faithful and

aguntur nota facient vobis They shall make known unto you all
things which are done here.
4:10 salutat vos Aristarchus 10. Aristarchus my fellowprisoner
concaptivus meus et Marcus consobrinus saluteth you, and Marcus, sister's son
Barnabae de quo accepistis mandata si to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received
venerit ad vos excipite illum commandments: if he come unto you,
receive him;)
4:11 et Iesus qui dicitur Iustus qui 11. And Jesus, which is called Justus,
sunt ex circumcisione hii soli sunt who are of the circumcision. These only
adiutores in regno Dei qui mihi fuerunt are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom
solacio of God, which have been a comfort unto
me.
4:12 salutat vos Epaphras qui ex vobis 12. Epaphras, who is one of you, a
est servus Christi Iesu semper servant of Christ, saluteth you, always
sollicitus pro vobis in orationibus ut labouring fervently for you in prayers,
stetis perfecti et pleni in omni that ye may stand perfect and complete
voluntate Dei in all the will of God.
4:13 testimonium enim illi perhibeo 13. For I bear him record, that he
quod habet multum laborem pro vobis et hath a great zeal for you, and them
pro his qui sunt Laodiciae et qui that are in Laodicea, and them in
Hierapoli Hierapolis.
4:14 salutat vos Lucas medicus 14. Luke, the beloved physician, and

4:16 et cum lecta fuerit apud vos 16. And when this epistle is read
Epistola facite ut et in Laodicensium among you, cause that it be read also
ecclesia legatur et eam quae in the church of the Laodiceans; and
Laodicensium est vos legatis that ye likewise read the epistle from
Laodicea.
4:17 et dicite Archippo vide 17. And say to Archippus, Take heed to
ministerium quod accepisti in Domino ut the ministry which thou hast received
illud impleas in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.
4:18 salutatio mea manu Pauli memores 18. The salutation by the hand of me
estote vinculorum meorum gratia Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with
vobiscum amen you. Amen.
