erroris et doctrinis daemoniorum seducing spirits, and doctrines of
                                             devils;

4:2 in hypocrisi loquentium mendacium 2. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having

cibis quos Deus creavit ad percipiendum to abstain from meats, which God hath
cum gratiarum actione fidelibus et his created to be received with
qui cognoverunt veritatem thanksgiving of them which believe and
                                             know the truth.

4:4 quia omnis creatura Dei bona et 4. For every creature of God is good,

4:6 haec proponens fratribus bonus 6. If thou put the brethren in

4:7 ineptas autem et aniles fabulas 7. But refuse profane and old wives'

                                             unto godliness.

4:8 nam corporalis exercitatio ad 8. For bodily exercise profiteth
modicum utilis est pietas autem ad little: but godliness is profitable

4:9 fidelis sermo et omni acceptione 9. This is a faithful saying and
dignus worthy of all acceptation.

4:10 in hoc enim laboramus et 10. For therefore we both labour and
maledicimur quia speravimus in Deum suffer reproach, because we trust in
vivum qui est salvator omnium hominum the living God, who is the Saviour of

4:11 praecipe haec et doce 11. These things command and teach.

4:12 nemo adulescentiam tuam contemnat 12. Let no man despise thy youth; but

conversatione in caritate in fide in word, in conversation, in charity, in
castitate spirit, in faith, in purity.

4:13 dum venio adtende lectioni 13. Till I come, give attendance to
exhortationi doctrinae reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

4:15 haec meditare in his esto ut 15. Meditate upon these things; give
