Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neque per hominem sed per Iesum neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, Christum et Deum Patrem qui suscitavit and God the Father, who raised him from eum a mortuis the dead;) 1:2 et qui mecum sunt omnes fratres 2. And all the brethren which are with ecclesiis Galatiae me, unto the churches of Galatia: 1:3 gratia vobis et pax a Deo Patre et 3. Grace be to you and peace from God Domino nostro Iesu Christo the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 1:4 qui dedit semet ipsum pro peccatis 4. Who gave himself for our sins, that nostris ut eriperet nos de praesenti he might deliver us from this present saeculo nequam secundum voluntatem Dei evil world, according to the will of et Patris nostri God and our Father: 1:5 cui est gloria in saecula 5. To whom be glory for ever and ever. saeculorum amen Amen. 1:6 miror quod sic tam cito 6. I marvel that ye are so soon transferimini ab eo qui vos vocavit in removed from him that called you into gratiam Christi in aliud evangelium the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 1:7 quod non est aliud nisi sunt 7. Which is not another; but there be aliqui qui vos conturbant et volunt some that trouble you, and would convertere evangelium Christi pervert the gospel of Christ. 1:8 sed licet nos aut angelus de caelo 8. But though we, or an angel from evangelizet vobis praeterquam quod heaven, preach any other gospel unto evangelizavimus vobis anathema sit you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 1:9 sicut praediximus et nunc iterum 9. As we said before, so say I now dico si quis vobis evangelizaverit again, if any man preach any other praeter id quod accepistis anathema sit gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 1:10 modo enim hominibus suadeo aut 10. For do I now persuade men, or God? Deo aut quaero hominibus placere si or do I seek to please men? for if I adhuc hominibus placerem Christi servus yet pleased men, I should not be the non essem servant of Christ. 1:11 notum enim vobis facio fratres 11. But I certify you, brethren, that evangelium quod evangelizatum est a me the gospel which was preached of me is quia non est secundum hominem not after man. 1:12 neque enim ego ab homine accepi 12. For I neither received it of man, illud neque didici sed per revelationem neither was I taught it, but by the Iesu Christi revelation of Jesus Christ. 1:13 audistis enim conversationem meam 13. For ye have heard of my aliquando in iudaismo quoniam supra conversation in time past in the Jews' modum persequebar ecclesiam Dei et religion, how that beyond measure I expugnabam illam persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: 1:14 et proficiebam in iudaismo supra 14. And profited in the Jews' religion multos coetaneos in genere meo above many my equals in mine own abundantius aemulator existens nation, being more exceedingly zealous paternarum mearum traditionum of the traditions of my fathers. 1:15 cum autem placuit ei qui me 15. But when it pleased God, who segregavit de utero matris meae et separated me from my mother's womb, and vocavit per gratiam suam called me by his grace, 1:16 ut revelaret Filium suum in me ut 16. To reveal his Son in me, that I evangelizarem illum in gentibus might preach him among the heathen; continuo non adquievi carni et sanguini immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: 1:17 neque veni Hierosolyma ad 17. Neither went I up to Jerusalem to antecessores meos apostolos sed abii in them which were apostles before me; but Arabiam et iterum reversus sum Damascum I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. 1:18 deinde post annos tres veni 18. Then after three years I went up Hierosolyma videre Petrum et mansi apud to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode eum diebus quindecim with him fifteen days. 1:19 alium autem apostolorum vidi 19. But other of the apostles saw I neminem nisi Iacobum fratrem Domini none, save James the Lord's brother. 1:20 quae autem scribo vobis ecce 20. Now the things which I write unto coram Deo quia non mentior you, behold, before God, I lie not. 1:21 deinde veni in partes Syriae et 21. Afterwards I came into the regions Ciliciae of Syria and Cilicia; 1:22 eram autem ignotus facie 22. And was unknown by face unto the ecclesiis Iudaeae quae erant in Christo churches of Judaea which were in Christ: 1:23 tantum autem auditum habebant 23. But they had heard only, That he quoniam qui persequebatur nos aliquando which persecuted us in times past now nunc evangelizat fidem quam aliquando preacheth the faith which once he expugnabat destroyed. 1:24 et in me clarificabant Deum 24. And they glorified God in me.Select Another Chapter: | NT Menu | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | Top of Chapter | |
