1:1  Paulus apostolus Christi Iesu per       1.  Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by

1:4  sicut elegit nos in ipso ante           4.  According as he hath chosen us in

1:18  inluminatos oculos cordis vestri       18.  The eyes of your understanding
ut sciatis quae sit spes vocationis          being enlightened; that ye may know
eius quae divitiae gloriae hereditatis       what is the hope of his calling, and
eius in sanctis                              what the riches of the glory of his
                                             inheritance in the saints,

1:19  et quae sit supereminens               19.  And what is the exceeding
magnitudo virtutis eius in nos qui           greatness of his power to us-ward who
credidimus secundum operationem              believe, according to the working of
potentiae virtutis eius                      his mighty power,

1:20  quam operatus est in Christo           20.  Which he wrought in Christ, when
suscitans illum a mortuis et                 he raised him from the dead, and set
constituens ad dexteram suam in              him at his own right hand in the
caelestibus                                  heavenly places,

1:21  supra omnem principatum et             21.  Far above all principality, and
potestatem et virtutem et dominationem       power, and might, and dominion, and
et omne nomen quod nominatur non solum       every name that is named, not only in
in hoc saeculo sed et in futuro              this world, but also in that which is
                                             to come:

1:22  et omnia subiecit sub pedibus          22.  And hath put all things under his
eius et ipsum dedit caput supra omnia        feet, and gave him to be the head over
ecclesiae                                    all things to the church,

1:23  quae est corpus ipsius plenitudo       23.  Which is his body, the fulness of
eius qui omnia in omnibus adimpletur         him that filleth all in all.
