3:1 huius rei gratia ego Paulus 1. For this cause I Paul, the prisoner
vinctus Christi Iesu pro vobis gentibus of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

3:2 si tamen audistis dispensationem 2. If ye have heard of the
gratiae Dei quae data est mihi in vobis dispensation of the grace of God which
                                             is given me to you-ward:

3:3 quoniam secundum revelationem 3. How that by revelation he made
notum mihi factum est sacramentum sicut known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote
supra scripsi in brevi afore in few words,

3:4 prout potestis legentes 4. Whereby, when ye read, ye may
intellegere prudentiam meam in mysterio understand my knowledge in the mystery
Christi                                      of Christ)

3:5 quod aliis generationibus non est 5. Which in other ages was not made
agnitum filiis hominum sicuti nunc known unto the sons of men, as it is
revelatum est sanctis apostolis eius et now revealed unto his holy apostles and
prophetis in Spiritu                         prophets by the Spirit;

3:6 esse gentes coheredes et 6. That the Gentiles should be
concorporales et conparticipes fellowheirs, and of the same body, and
promissionis in Christo Iesu per partakers of his promise in Christ by
evangelium                                   the gospel:

3:7 cuius factus sum minister secundum 7. Whereof I was made a minister,
donum gratiae Dei quae data est mihi according to the gift of the grace of
secundum operationem virtutis eius God given unto me by the effectual
                                             working of his power.

3:8 mihi omnium sanctorum minimo data 8. Unto me, who am less than the least
est gratia haec in gentibus of all saints, is this grace given,
evangelizare ininvestigabiles divitias that I should preach among the Gentiles
Christi                                      the unsearchable riches of Christ;

3:9 et inluminare omnes quae sit 9. And to make all men see what is the
dispensatio sacramenti absconditi a fellowship of the mystery, which from
saeculis in Deo qui omnia creavit the beginning of the world hath been
                                             hid in God, who created all things by
                                             Jesus Christ:

3:10 ut innotescat principibus et 10. To the intent that now unto the
potestatibus in caelestibus per principalities and powers in heavenly
ecclesiam multiformis sapientia Dei places might be known by the church the
                                             manifold wisdom of God,

3:11 secundum praefinitionem 11. According to the eternal purpose
saeculorum quam fecit in Christo Iesu which he purposed in Christ Jesus our
Domino nostro                                Lord:

3:12 in quo habemus fiduciam et 12. In whom we have boldness and
accessum in confidentia per fidem eius access with confidence by the faith of
                                             him.

3:13 propter quod peto ne deficiatis 13. Wherefore I desire that ye faint
in tribulationibus meis pro vobis quae not at my tribulations for you, which
est gloria vestra is your glory.

3:14 huius rei gratia flecto genua mea 14. For this cause I bow my knees unto
ad Patrem Domini nostri Iesu Christi the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

3:15 ex quo omnis paternitas in caelis 15. Of whom the whole family in heaven
et in terra nominatur and earth is named,

3:16 ut det vobis secundum divitias 16. That he would grant you, according
gloriae suae virtute corroborari per to the riches of his glory, to be
Spiritum eius in interiore homine strengthened with might by his Spirit
                                             in the inner man;

3:17 habitare Christum per fidem in 17. That Christ may dwell in your
cordibus vestris in caritate radicati hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted
et fundati and grounded in love,

3:18 ut possitis conprehendere cum 18. May be able to comprehend with all
omnibus sanctis quae sit latitudo et saints what is the breadth, and length,
longitudo et sublimitas et profundum         and depth, and height;

3:19 scire etiam supereminentem 19. And to know the love of Christ,
scientiae caritatem Christi ut which passeth knowledge, that ye might
impleamini in omnem plenitudinem Dei be filled with all the fulness of God.

3:20 ei autem qui potens est omnia 20. Now unto him that is able to do
facere superabundanter quam petimus aut exceeding abundantly above all that we
intellegimus secundum virtutem quae ask or think, according to the power
operatur in nobis that worketh in us,

3:21 ipsi gloria in ecclesia et in 21. Unto him be glory in the church by
Christo Iesu in omnes generationes Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world
saeculi saeculorum amen without end. Amen.
