Wallis Winchester, Tenn 1832; died at his residence near Winchester, Tenn., 22 Jan., 1835, in the 77th year of his age. He had fought in the Revolutionary War at the siege of York, when he held the commission of lieutentant. When the captaincy of his company became vacant, he commanded it the remainder of the siege which led to the surrender of Conwallis and his army. About 1793 he moved from Virginia to Kentucky and in 1807 to Tennessee. He served as a justice of the peace. He became a Christian more than 40 years ago. He had property and negro slaves but his will provided for them to be allowed, after five years, to go to Liberia if they desired. Obituary mentions children but not named. Estill, Mrs. Jane , died 7 Apr. 1829, after illness of about two months, in 72nd year of age, wife of Wallis Estill, Esq., of near Winchester, Franklin County, Tenn.
