                  Calvinistic Baptist Church 19 years. Jacob Johnston of
                  Covington co. Ala., who wrote the obituary, said "I had an
                  interview with him [about two months ago], through which he 
                  became acquainted with the Christian belief and united with the
                  church..." He died of gangrene which took place in his foot,
                  which soon led  to a mortification." On the 15th Nov. he was
                  confined to his bed--was a little delerious from Sunday until
                  Tuesday evening, after which he came perfectly to his senses."
                  One son is mentioned and a wife. Other family implied.
