13:1 ecce tertio hoc venio ad vos in 1. This is the third time I am coming
ore duorum vel trium testium stabit to you. In the mouth of two or three
omne verbum witnesses shall every word be
                                             established.

13:2 praedixi et praedico ut praesens 2. I told you before, and foretell
bis et nunc absens his qui ante you, as if I were present, the second
peccaverunt et ceteris omnibus quoniam time; and being absent now I write to
si venero iterum non parcam them which heretofore have sinned, and
to all other, that, if I come again, I
                                             will not spare:

13:3 an experimentum quaeritis eius 3. Since ye seek a proof of Christ
qui in me loquitur Christi qui in vos speaking in me, which to you-ward is
non infirmatur sed potens est in vobis not weak, but is mighty in you.

13:4 nam et si crucifixus est ex 4. For though he was crucified through
infirmitate sed vivit ex virtute Dei weakness, yet he liveth by the power of
nam et nos infirmi sumus in illo sed God. For we also are weak in him, but
vivemus cum eo ex virtute Dei in vobis we shall live with him by the power of
                                             God toward you.

13:5 vosmet ipsos temptate si estis in 5. Examine yourselves, whether ye be
fide ipsi vos probate an non in the faith; prove your own selves.
cognoscitis vos ipsos quia Christus Know ye not your own selves, how that
Iesus in vobis est nisi forte reprobi Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be
estis reprobates?

13:6 spero autem quod cognoscetis quia 6. But I trust that ye shall know that
nos non sumus reprobi we are not reprobates.

13:7 oramus autem Deum ut nihil mali 7. Now I pray to God that ye do no
faciatis non ut nos probati pareamus evil; not that we should appear
sed ut vos quod bonum est faciatis nos approved, but that ye should do that
autem ut reprobi simus which is honest, though we be as
                                             reprobates.

13:8 non enim possumus aliquid 8. For we can do nothing against the
adversus veritatem sed pro veritate truth, but for the truth.

13:9 gaudemus enim quando nos infirmi 9. For we are glad, when we are weak,
sumus vos autem potentes estis hoc et and ye are strong: and this also we
oramus vestram consummationem wish, even your perfection.

13:10 ideo haec absens scribo ut non 10. Therefore I write these things
praesens durius agam secundum being absent, lest being present I
potestatem quam Dominus dedit mihi in should use sharpness, according to the
aedificationem et non in destructionem power which the Lord hath given me to
                                             edification, and not to destruction.

13:11 de cetero fratres gaudete 11. Finally, brethren, farewell. Be
perfecti estote exhortamini idem sapite perfect, be of good comfort, be of one
pacem habete et Deus dilectionis et mind, live in peace; and the God of
pacis erit vobiscum love and peace shall be with you.

13:12 salutate invicem in osculo 12. Greet one another with an holy
sancto Kiss.
salutant vos sancti omnes 13. All the saints salute you.

13:13 gratia Domini nostri Iesu
Christi et caritas dei
et communicatio Sancti Sprititus
cum omnibus vobis amen
