Moreover, brethren, we do you to gratiam Dei quae data est in ecclesiis wit of the grace of God bestowed on the Macedoniae churches of Macedonia; 8:2 quod in multo experimento 2. How that in a great trial of tribulationis abundantia gaudii ipsorum affliction the abundance of their joy et altissima paupertas eorum abundavit and their deep poverty abounded unto in divitias simplicitatis eorum the riches of their liberality. 8:3 quia secundum virtutem testimonium 3. For to their power, I bear record, illis reddo et supra virtutem yea, and beyond their power they were voluntarii fuerunt willing of themselves; 8:4 cum multa exhortatione obsecrantes 4. Praying us with much intreaty that nos gratiam et communicationem we would receive the gift, and take ministerii quod fit in sanctos upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. 8:5 et non sicut speravimus sed semet 5. And this they did, not as we hoped, ipsos dederunt primum Domino deinde but first gave their own selves to the nobis per voluntatem Dei Lord, and unto us by the will of God. 8:6 ita ut rogaremus Titum ut 6. Insomuch that we desired Titus, quemadmodum coepit ita et perficiat in that as he had begun, so he would also vos etiam gratiam istam finish in you the same grace also. 8:7 sed sicut in omnibus abundatis 7. Therefore, as ye abound in every fide et sermone et scientia et omni thing, in faith, and utterance, and sollicitudine et caritate vestra in nos knowledge, and in all diligence, and in ut et in hac gratia abundetis your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. 8:8 non quasi imperans dico sed per 8. I speak not by commandment, but by aliorum sollicitudinem etiam vestrae occasion of the forwardness of others, caritatis ingenitum bonum conprobans and to prove the sincerity of your love. 8:9 scitis enim gratiam Domini nostri 9. For ye know the grace of our Lord Iesu Christi quoniam propter vos egenus Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, factus est cum esset dives ut illius yet for your sakes he became poor, that inopia vos divites essetis ye through his poverty might be rich. 8:10 et consilium in hoc do hoc enim 10. And herein I give my advice: for vobis utile est qui non solum facere this is expedient for you, who have sed et velle coepistis ab anno priore begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. 8:11 nunc vero et facto perficite ut 11. Now therefore perform the doing of quemadmodum promptus est animus it; that as there was a readiness to voluntatis ita sit et perficiendi ex eo will, so there may be a performance quod habetis also out of that which ye have. 8:12 si enim voluntas prompta est 12. For if there be first a willing secundum id quod habet accepta est non mind, it is accepted according to that secundum quod non habet a man hath, and not according to that he hath not. 8:13 non enim ut aliis sit remissio 13. For I mean not that other men be vobis autem tribulatio sed ex eased, and ye burdened: aequalitate 8:14 in praesenti tempore vestra 14. But by an equality, that now at abundantia illorum inopiam suppleat ut this time your abundance may be a et illorum abundantia vestrae inopiae supply for their want, that their sit supplementum ut fiat aequalitas abundance also may be a supply for your sicut scriptum est want: that there may be equality: 8:15 qui multum non abundavit et qui 15. As it is written, He that had modicum non minoravit gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack. 8:16 gratias autem Deo qui dedit 16. But thanks be to God, which put eandem sollicitudinem pro vobis in the same earnest care into the heart of corde Titi Titus for you. 8:17 quoniam exhortationem quidem 17. For indeed he accepted the suscepit sed cum sollicitior esset sua exhortation; but being more forward, of voluntate profectus est ad vos his own accord he went unto you. 8:18 misimus etiam cum illo fratrem 18. And we have sent with him the cuius laus est in evangelio per omnes brother, whose praise is in the gospel ecclesias throughout all the churches; 8:19 non solum autem sed et ordinatus 19. And not that only, but who was ab ecclesiis comes peregrinationis also chosen of the churches to travel nostrae in hac gratia quae ministratur with us with this grace, which is a nobis ad Domini gloriam et destinatam administered by us to the glory of the voluntatem nostram same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind: 8:20 devitantes hoc ne quis nos 20. Avoiding this, that no man should vituperet in hac plenitudine quae blame us in this abundance which is ministratur a nobis administered by us: 8:21 providemus enim bona non solum 21. Providing for honest things, not coram Deo sed etiam coram hominibus only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. 8:22 misimus autem cum illis et 22. And we have sent with them our fratrem nostrum quem probavimus in brother, whom we have oftentimes proved multis saepe sollicitum esse nunc autem diligent in many things, but now much multo sollicitiorem confidentia multa more diligent, upon the great in vos confidence which I have in you. 8:23 sive pro Tito qui est socius meus 23. Whether any do enquire of Titus, et in vos adiutor sive fratres nostri he is my partner and fellowhelper apostoli ecclesiarum gloriae Christi concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ. 8:24 ostensionem ergo quae est 24.
