6:1 adiuvantes autem et exhortamur ne 1. We then, as workers together with
in vacuum gratiam Dei recipiatis him, beseech you also that ye receive
                                             not the grace of God in vain.

6:2 ait enim tempore accepto exaudivi 2. (For he saith, I have heard thee in
te et in die salutis adiuvavi te ecce a time accepted, and in the day of
nunc tempus acceptabile ecce nunc dies salvation have I succoured thee:
salutis                                      behold, now is the accepted time;
                                             behold, now is the day of salvation.)

6:3 nemini dantes ullam offensionem ut 3. Giving no offence in any thing,
non vituperetur ministerium that the ministry be not blamed:

6:4 sed in omnibus exhibeamus nosmet 4. But in all things approving
ipsos sicut Dei ministros in multa ourselves as the ministers of God, in
patientia in tribulationibus in much patience, in afflictions, in
necessitatibus in angustiis necessities, in distresses,

6:5 in plagis in carceribus in 5. In stripes, in imprisonments, in
seditionibus in laboribus in vigiliis tumults, in labours, in watchings, in
in ieiuniis                                  fastings;

6:6 in castitate in scientia in 6. By pureness, by knowledge, by
longanimitate in suavitate in Spiritu longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy
Sancto in caritate non ficta Ghost, by love unfeigned,

6:7 in verbo veritatis in virtute Dei 7. By the word of truth, by the power
per arma iustitiae a dextris et of God, by the armour of righteousness
sinistris on the right hand and on the left,

6:8 per gloriam et ignobilitatem per 8. By honour and dishonour, by evil
infamiam et bonam famam ut seductores report and good report: as deceivers,
et veraces sicut qui ignoti et cogniti       and yet true;

6:9 quasi morientes et ecce vivimus ut 9. As unknown, and yet well known; as
castigati et non mortificati dying, and, behold, we live; as
                                             chastened, and not killed;

6:10  quasi tristes semper autem             10.  As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing;
gaudentes sicut egentes multos autem as poor, yet making many rich; as
locupletantes tamquam nihil habentes et having nothing, and yet possessing all
omnia possidentes                            things.

6:11 os nostrum patet ad vos o 11. O ye Corinthians, our mouth is
Corinthii cor nostrum dilatatum est open unto you, our heart is enlarged.

6:12 non angustiamini in nobis 12. Ye are not straitened in us, but
angustiamini autem in visceribus vestris ye are straitened in your own bowels.

6:13 eandem autem habentes 13. Now for a recompence in the same,
remunerationem tamquam filiis dico (I speak as unto my children,) be ye
dilatamini et vos                            also enlarged.

6:14 nolite iugum ducere cum 14. Be ye not unequally yoked together
infidelibus quae enim participatio with unbelievers: for what fellowship
iustitiae cum iniquitate aut quae hath righteousness with
societas luci ad tenebras unrighteousness? and what communion
                                             hath light with darkness?

6:15 quae autem conventio Christi ad 15. And what concord hath Christ with
Belial aut quae pars fideli cum infidele Belial? or what part hath he that
                                             believeth with an infidel?

6:16 qui autem consensus templo Dei 16. And what agreement hath the temple
cum idolis vos enim estis templum Dei of God with idols? for ye are the
vivi sicut dicit Deus quoniam temple of the living God; as God hath
inhabitabo in illis et inambulabo et said, I will dwell in them, and walk in
ero illorum Deus et ipsi erunt mihi them; and I will be their God, and they
populus                                      shall be my people.

6:17 propter quod exite de medio eorum 17. Wherefore come out from among
et separamini dicit Dominus et inmundum them, and be ye separate, saith the
ne tetigeritis                               Lord, and touch not the unclean thing;
                                             and I will receive you.

6:18 et ego recipiam vos et ero vobis 18. And will be a Father unto you, and
in patrem et vos eritis mihi in filios ye shall be my sons and daughters,
et filias dicit Dominus omnipotens saith the Lord Almighty.
