3:1 et ego fratres non potui vobis 1. And I, brethren, could not speak
loqui quasi spiritalibus sed quasi unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto
carnalibus tamquam parvulis in Christo carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
3:2 lac vobis potum dedi non escam 2. I have fed you with milk, and not
nondum enim poteratis sed ne nunc with meat: for hitherto ye were not

carnales able.
3:3 cum enim sit inter vos zelus et 3. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas
contentio nonne carnales estis et there is among you envying, and strife,
secundum hominem ambulatis and divisions, are ye not carnal, and
walk as men?
3:4 cum enim quis dicit ego quidem sum 4. For while one saith, I am of Paul;
Pauli alius autem ego Apollo nonne and another, I am of Apollos; are ye
homines estis quid igitur est Apollo not carnal?

every man?
3:6 ego plantavi Apollo rigavit sed 6. I have planted, Apollos watered;
Deus incrementum dedit but God gave the increase.

aliquid neque qui rigat sed qui any thing, neither he that watereth;
incrementum dat Deus but God that giveth the increase.

quomodo superaedificet thereon. But let every man take heed
how he buildeth thereupon.
3:11 fundamentum enim aliud nemo 11. For other foundation can no man
potest ponere praeter id quod positum lay than that is laid, which is Jesus
est qui est Christus Iesus Christ.
3:12 si quis autem superaedificat 12. Now if any man build upon this
supra fundamentum hoc aurum argentum foundation gold, silver, precious

revelabitur et uniuscuiusque opus quale because it shall be revealed by fire;
sit ignis probabit and the fire shall try every man's work
of what sort it is.
3:14 si cuius opus manserit quod 14. If any man's work abide which he
superaedificavit mercedem accipiet hath built thereupon, he shall receive
a reward.
3:15 si cuius opus arserit detrimentum 15. If any man's work shall be burned,
patietur ipse autem salvus erit sic he shall suffer loss: but he himself
tamen quasi per ignem shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
3:16 nescitis quia templum Dei estis 16. Know ye not that ye are the temple
et Spiritus Dei habitat in vobis of God, and that the Spirit of God
dwelleth in you?
3:17 si quis autem templum Dei 17. If any man defile the temple of

enim Dei sanctum est quod estis vos temple of God is holy, which temple ye
are.

inter vos sapiens esse in hoc saeculo man among you seemeth to be wise in
stultus fiat ut sit sapiens this world, let him become a fool, that
he may be wise.
3:19 sapientia enim huius mundi 19. For the wisdom of this world is
stultitia est apud Deum scriptum est foolishness with God. For it is
enim conprehendam sapientes in astutia written, He taketh the wise in their
eorum own craftiness.
3:20 et iterum Dominus novit 20. And again, The Lord knoweth the
cogitationes sapientium quoniam vanae thoughts of the wise, that they are
sunt vain.
3:21 itaque nemo glorietur in 21. Therefore let no man glory in men.
hominibus omnia enim vestra sunt For all things are your's;
3:22 sive Paulus sive Apollo sive 22. Whether Paul, or Apollos, or
