6:1 audet aliquis vestrum habens 1. Dare any of you, having a matter
negotium adversus alterum iudicari apud against another, go to law before the
iniquos et non apud sanctos unjust, and not before the saints?

6:2 an nescitis quoniam sancti de 2. Do ye not know that the saints
mundo iudicabunt et si in vobis shall judge the world? and if the world
iudicabitur mundus indigni estis qui de shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy
minimis iudicetis to judge the smallest matters?

6:3 nescitis quoniam angelos 3. Know ye not that we shall judge
iudicabimus quanto magis saecularia angels? how much more things that
                                             pertain to this life?

6:4 saecularia igitur iudicia si 4. If then ye have judgments of things
habueritis contemptibiles qui sunt in pertaining to this life, set them to
ecclesia illos constituite ad iudicandum judge who are least esteemed in the
                                             church.

6:5 ad verecundiam vestram dico sic 5. I speak to your shame. Is it so,
non est inter vos sapiens quisquam qui that there is not a wise man among you?
possit iudicare inter fratrem suum no, not one that shall be able to judge
                                             between his brethren?

6:6 sed frater cum fratre iudicio 6. But brother goeth to law with
contendit et hoc apud infideles brother, and that before the
                                             unbelievers.

6:7 iam quidem omnino delictum est in 7. Now therefore there is utterly a
vobis quod iudicia habetis inter vos fault among you, because ye go to law
quare non magis iniuriam accipitis one with another. Why do ye not rather
quare non magis fraudem patimini take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer
                                             yourselves to be defrauded?

6:8 sed vos iniuriam facitis et 8. Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and
fraudatis et hoc fratribus that your brethren.

6:9 an nescitis quia iniqui regnum Dei 9. Know ye not that the unrighteous
non possidebunt nolite errare neque shall not inherit the kingdom of God?
fornicarii neque idolis servientes Be not deceived: neither fornicators,
neque adulteri nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor
                                             effeminate, nor abusers of themselves
                                             with mankind,

6:10 neque molles neque masculorum 10. Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor
concubitores neque fures neque avari drunkards, nor revilers, nor
neque ebriosi neque maledici neque extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom
rapaces regnum Dei possidebunt of God.

6:11 et haec quidam fuistis sed abluti 11. And such were some of you: but ye
estis sed sanctificati estis sed are washed, but ye are sanctified, but
iustificati estis in nomine Domini ye are justified in the name of the
nostri Iesu Christi et in Spiritu Dei Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our
nostri God.

6:12 omnia mihi licent sed non omnia 12. All things are lawful unto me, but
expediunt omnia mihi licent sed ego sub all things are not expedient: all
nullius redigar potestate things are lawful for me, but I will
not be brought under the power of any.

6:13 esca ventri et venter escis Deus 13. Meats for the belly, and the belly
autem et hunc et haec destruet corpus for meats: but God shall destroy both
autem non fornicationi sed Domino et it and them. Now the body is not for
Dominus corpori fornication, but for the Lord; and the
                                             Lord for the body.

6:14 Deus vero et Dominum suscitavit 14. And God hath both raised up the
et nos suscitabit per virtutem suam Lord, and will also raise up us by his
                                             own power.

6:15 nescitis quoniam corpora vestra 15. Know ye not that your bodies are
membra Christi sunt tollens ergo membra the members of Christ? shall I then
Christi faciam membra meretricis absit take the members of Christ, and make
them the members of an harlot? God
                                             forbid.

6:16 an nescitis quoniam qui adheret 16. What? know ye not that he which is
meretrici unum corpus efficitur erunt joined to an harlot is one body? for
enim inquit duo in carne una two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

6:17 qui autem adheret Domino unus 17. But he that is joined unto the
spiritus est Lord is one spirit.

6:18 fugite fornicationem omne 18. Flee fornication. Every sin that a
peccatum quodcumque fecerit homo extra man doeth is without the body; but he
corpus est qui autem fornicatur in that committeth fornication sinneth
corpus suum peccat against his own body.

6:19 an nescitis quoniam membra vestra 19. What? know ye not that your body
templum est Spiritus Sancti qui in is the temple of the Holy Ghost which
vobis est quem habetis a Deo et non is in you, which ye have of God, and ye
estis vestri are not your own?

6:20 empti enim estis pretio magno 20. For ye are bought with a price:
glorificate et portate Deum in corpore therefore glorify God in your body, and
vestro in your spirit, which are God's.
