qui intinguit mecum in catino them, It is one of the twelve, that
dippeth with me in the dish.
14:21 et Filius quidem hominis vadit 21. The Son of man indeed goeth, as it
sicut scriptum est de eo vae autem is written of him: but woe to that man
homini illi per quem Filius hominis by whom the Son of man is betrayed!
traditur bonum ei si non esset natus good were it for that man if he had
homo ille never been born.
14:22 et manducantibus illis accepit 22. And as they did eat, Jesus took
Iesus panem et benedicens fregit et bread, and blessed, and brake it, and

scattered.
14:28 sed posteaquam resurrexero 28. But after that I am risen, I will
praecedam vos in Galilaeam go before you into Galilee.
14:29 Petrus autem ait ei et si omnes 29. But Peter said unto him, Although
scandalizati fuerint sed non ego all shall be offended, yet will not I.
14:30 et ait illi Iesus amen dico tibi 30. And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I
quia tu hodie in nocte hac priusquam say unto thee, That this day, even in
bis gallus vocem dederit ter me es this night, before the cock crow twice,
negaturus thou shalt deny me thrice.
14:31 at ille amplius loquebatur et si 31. But he spake the more vehemently,
oportuerit me simul conmori tibi non te If I should die with thee, I will not
negabo similiter autem et omnes dicebant deny thee in any wise. Likewise also
said they all.
14:32 et veniunt in praedium cui nomen 32. And they came to a place which was

vigilate ye here, and watch.
14:35 et cum processisset paululum 35. And he went forward a little, and
procidit super terram et orabat ut si fell on the ground, and prayed that, if
fieri posset transiret ab eo hora it were possible, the hour might pass
from him.
14:36 et dixit Abba Pater omnia 36. And he said, Abba, Father, all
possibilia tibi sunt transfer calicem things are possible unto thee; take
hunc a me sed non quod ego volo sed away this cup from me: nevertheless not
quod tu what I will, but what thou wilt.
14:37 et venit et invenit eos 37. And he cometh, and findeth them
dormientes et ait Petro Simon dormis sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon,
non potuisti una hora vigilare sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch
one hour?
14:38 vigilate et orate ut non 38. Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter
intretis in temptationem spiritus into temptation. The spirit truly is

14:39 et iterum abiens oravit eundem 39. And again he went away, and
sermonem dicens prayed, and spake the same words.
14:40 et reversus denuo invenit eos 40. And when he returned, he found
dormientes erant enim oculi illorum them asleep again, (for their eyes were
ingravati et ignorabant quid heavy,) neither wist they what to

14:41 et venit tertio et ait illis 41. And he cometh the third time, and

betrayed into the hands of sinners.
14:42 surgite eamus ecce qui me tradit 42. Rise up, let us go; lo, he that
prope est betrayeth me is at hand.
14:43 et adhuc eo loquente venit Iudas 43. And immediately, while he yet

fuero ipse est tenete eum et ducite shall kiss, that same is he; take him,
and lead him away safely.
14:45 et cum venisset statim accedens 45. And as soon as he was come, he

14:48 et respondens Iesus ait illis 48. And Jesus answered and said unto
tamquam ad latronem existis cum gladiis them, Are ye come out, as against a
et lignis conprehendere me thief, with swords and with staves to
take me?
14:49 cotidie eram apud vos in templo 49. I was daily with you in the temple
docens et non me tenuistis sed ut teaching, and ye took me not: but the
adimpleantur scripturae scriptures must be fulfilled.
14:50 tunc discipuli eius relinquentes 50. And they all forsook him, and fled.

interrogabat eum et dicit ei tu es asked him, and said unto him, Art thou
Christus Filius Benedicti the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
14:62 Iesus autem dixit illi ego sum 62. And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall

es them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy
speech agreeth thereto.
14:71 ille autem coepit anathematizare 71. But he began to curse and to

quem dicitis whom ye speak.
14:72 et statim iterum gallus cantavit 72. And the second time the cock crew.
