And after six days Jesus taketh Petrum et Iacobum et Iohannem et ducit with him Peter, and James, and John, illos in montem excelsum seorsum solos and leadeth them up into an high et transfiguratus est coram ipsis mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. 9:2 et vestimenta eius facta sunt 3. And his raiment became shining, splendentia candida nimis velut nix exceeding white as snow; so as no qualia fullo super terram non potest fuller on earth can white them. candida facere 9:3 et apparuit illis Helias cum Mose 4. And there appeared unto them Elias et erant loquentes cum Iesu with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus. 9:4 et respondens Petrus ait Iesu 5. And Peter answered and said to rabbi bonum est hic nos esse et Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be faciamus tria tabernacula tibi unum et here: and let us make three Mosi unum et Heliae unum tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 9:5 non enim sciebat quid diceret 6. For he wist not what to say; for erant enim timore exterriti they were sore afraid. 9:6 et facta est nubes obumbrans eos 7. And they asked him, saying, Why quid ergo dicunt Pharisaei et scribae say the scribes that Elias must first quia Heliam oporteat venire primum come? 9:11 qui respondens ait illis Helias 12. And he answered and told them, cum venerit primo restituet omnia et Elias verily cometh first, and quomodo scriptum est in Filium hominis restoreth all things; and how it is ut multa patiatur et contemnatur written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought. 9:12 sed dico vobis quia et Helias 13. But I say unto you, That Elias is venit et fecerunt illi quaecumque indeed come, and they have done unto voluerunt sicut scriptum est de eo him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him. 9:13 et veniens ad discipulos suos 14. And when he came to his disciples, vidit turbam magnam circa eos et he saw a great multitude about them, scribas conquirentes cum illis and the scribes questioning with them. 9:14 et confestim omnis populus videns 15. And straightway all the people, eum stupefactus est et adcurrentes when they beheld him, were greatly salutabant eum amazed, and running to him saluted him. 9:15 et interrogavit eos quid inter 16. And he asked the scribes, What vos conquiritis question ye with them? 9:16 et respondens unus de turba dixit 17. And one of the multitude answered magister adtuli filium meum ad te and said, Master, I have brought unto habentem spiritum mutum thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit; 9:17 qui ubicumque eum adprehenderit 18. And wheresoever he taketh him, he adlidit eum et spumat et stridet teareth him: and he foameth, and dentibus et arescit et dixi discipulis gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth tuis ut eicerent illum et non potuerunt away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not. 9:18 qui respondens eis dicit o 19. He answereth him, and saith, O generatio incredula quamdiu apud vos faithless generation, how long shall I ero quamdiu vos patiar adferte illum ad be with you? how long shall I suffer me you? bring him unto me. 9:19 et adtulerunt eum et cum vidisset 20. And they brought him unto him: and illum statim spiritus conturbavit eum when he saw him, straightway the spirit et elisus in terram volutabatur spumans tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. 9:20 et interrogavit patrem eius 21. And he asked his father, How long quantum temporis est ex quo hoc ei is it ago since this came unto him? And accidit at ille ait ab infantia he said, Of a child. 9:21 et frequenter eum et in ignem et 22. And ofttimes it hath cast him into in aquas misit ut eum perderet sed si the fire, and into the waters, to quid potes adiuva nos misertus nostri destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us. 9:22 Iesus autem ait illi si potes 23. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst credere omnia possibilia credenti believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. 9:23 et continuo exclamans pater pueri 24. And straightway the father of the cum lacrimis aiebat credo adiuva child cried out, and said with tears, incredulitatem meam Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. 9:24 et cum videret Iesus concurrentem 25. When Jesus saw that the people turbam comminatus est spiritui inmundo came running together, he rebuked the dicens illi surde et mute spiritus ego foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb tibi praecipio exi ab eo et amplius ne and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come introeas in eum out of him, and enter no more into him. 9:25 et clamans et multum discerpens 26. And the spirit cried, and rent him eum exiit ab eo et factus est sicut sore, and came out of him: and he was mortuus ita ut multi dicerent quia as one dead; insomuch that many said, mortuus est He is dead. 9:26 Iesus autem tenens manum eius 27. But Jesus took him by the hand, elevavit illum et surrexit and lifted him up; and he arose. 9:27 et cum introisset in domum 28. And when he was come into the discipuli eius secreto interrogabant house, his disciples asked him eum quare nos non potuimus eicere eum privately, Why could not we cast him out? 9:28 et dixit illis hoc genus in nullo 29. And he said unto them, This kind potest exire nisi in oratione et ieiunio can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. 9:29 et inde profecti 30. And they departed thence, and praetergrediebantur Galilaeam nec passed through Galilee; and he would volebat quemquam scire not that any man should know it. 9:30 docebat autem discipulos suos et 31. For he taught his disciples, and dicebat illis quoniam Filius hominis said unto them, The Son of man is tradetur in manus hominum et occident delivered into the hands of men, and eum et occisus tertia die resurget they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. 9:31 at illi ignorabant verbum et 32. But they understood not that timebant eum interrogare saying, and were afraid to ask him. 9:32 et venerunt Capharnaum qui cum 33. And he came to Capernaum: and domi esset interrogabat eos quid in via being in the house he asked them, What tractabatis was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way? 9:33 at illi tacebant siquidem inter 34. But they held their peace: for by se in via disputaverant quis esset the way they had disputed among illorum maior themselves, who should be the greatest. 9:34 et residens vocavit duodecim et 35. And he sat down, and called the ait illis si quis vult primus esse erit twelve, and saith unto them, If any man omnium novissimus et omnium minister desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. 9:35 et accipiens puerum statuit eum 36. And he took a child, and set him in medio eorum quem cum conplexus esset in the midst of them: and when he had ait illis taken him in his arms, he said unto them, 9:36 quisquis unum ex huiusmodi pueris 37. Whosoever shall receive one of receperit in nomine meo me recipit et such children in my name, receiveth me: quicumque me susceperit non me suscipit and whosoever shall receive me, sed eum qui me misit receiveth not me, but him that sent me. 9:37 respondit illi Iohannes dicens 38. And John answered him, saying, magister vidimus quendam in nomine tuo Master, we saw one casting out devils eicientem daemonia qui non sequitur nos in thy name, and he followeth not us: et prohibuimus eum and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. 9:38 Iesus autem ait nolite prohibere 39. But Jesus said, Forbid him not: eum nemo est enim qui faciat virtutem for there is no man which shall do a in nomine meo et possit cito male loqui miracle in my name, that can lightly de me speak evil of me. 9:39 qui enim non est adversum vos pro 40. For he that is not against us is vobis est on our part. 9:40 quisquis enim potum dederit vobis 41. For whosoever shall give you a cup calicem aquae in nomine meo quia of water to drink in my name, because Christi estis amen dico vobis non ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto perdet mercedem suam you, he shall not lose his reward. 9:41 et quisquis scandalizaverit unum 42. And whosoever shall offend one of ex his pusillis credentibus in me bonum these little ones that believe in me, est ei magis si circumdaretur mola it is better for him that a millstone asinaria collo eius et in mare were hanged about his neck, and he were mitteretur cast into the sea. 9:42 et si scandalizaverit te manus 43. Where their worm dieth not, and ignis non extinguitur the fire is not quenched. 9:44 et si pes tuus te scandalizat 45. And if thy foot offend thee, cut amputa illum bonum est tibi claudum it off: it is better for thee to enter introire in vitam aeternam quam duos halt into life, than having two feet to pedes habentem mitti in gehennam ignis be cast into hell, into the fire that inextinguibilis never shall be quenched: 9:45 ubi vermis eorum non moritur et 46. Where their worm dieth not, and ignis non extinguitur the fire is not quenched. 9:46 quod si oculus tuus scandalizat 47. And if thine eye offend thee, te eice eum bonum est tibi luscum pluck it out: it is better for thee to introire in regnum Dei quam duos oculos enter into the kingdom of God with one habentem mitti in gehennam ignis eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 9:47 ubi vermis eorum non moritur et 48. Where their worm dieth not, and ignis non extinguitur the fire is not quenched. 9:48 omnis enim igne sallietur et 49. For every one shall be salted with omnis victima sallietur fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. 9:49 bonum est sal quod si sal 50. Salt is good: but if the salt have insulsum fuerit in quo illud condietis lost his saltness, wherewith will ye habete in vobis sal et pacem habete season it?
