15:1 et confestim mane consilium 1. And straightway in the morning the
facientes summi sacerdotes cum chief priests held a consultation with
senioribus et scribis et universo the elders and scribes and the whole
concilio vincientes Iesum duxerunt et council, and bound Jesus, and carried
tradiderunt Pilato him away, and delivered him to Pilate.

15:2 et interrogavit eum Pilatus tu es 2. And Pilate asked him, Art thou the
rex Iudaeorum at ille respondens ait King of the Jews? And he answering said
illi tu dicis unto them, Thou sayest it.

15:3 et accusabant eum summi 3. And the chief priests accused him
sacerdotes in multis of many things: but he answered nothing.

15:4 Pilatus autem rursum interrogavit 4. And Pilate asked him again, saying,
eum dicens non respondes quicquam vide Answerest thou nothing? behold how many
in quantis te accusant things they witness against thee.

15:5 Iesus autem amplius nihil 5. But Jesus yet answered nothing; so
respondit ita ut miraretur Pilatus that Pilate marvelled.

15:6 per diem autem festum dimittere 6. Now at that feast he released unto
solebat illis unum ex vinctis them one prisoner, whomsoever they
quemcumque petissent desired.

15:7 erat autem qui dicebatur Barabbas 7. And there was one named Barabbas,
qui cum seditiosis erat vinctus qui in which lay bound with them that had made
seditione fecerant homicidium insurrection with him, who had
                                             committed murder in the insurrection.

15:8 et cum ascendisset turba coepit 8. And the multitude crying aloud
rogare sicut semper faciebat illis began to desire him to do as he had
                                             ever done unto them.

15:9 Pilatus autem respondit eis et 9. But Pilate answered them, saying,
dixit vultis dimittam vobis regem Will ye that I release unto you the
Iudaeorum King of the Jews?

15:10 sciebat enim quod per invidiam 10. For he knew that the chief priests
tradidissent eum summi sacerdotes had delivered him for envy.

15:11 pontifices autem concitaverunt 11. But the chief priests moved the
turbam ut magis Barabban dimitteret eis people, that he should rather release
                                             Barabbas unto them.

15:12 Pilatus autem iterum respondens 12. And Pilate answered and said again
ait illis quid ergo vultis faciam regi unto them, What will ye then that I
Iudaeorum shall do unto him whom ye call the King
                                             of the Jews?

15:13 at illi iterum clamaverunt 13. And they cried out again, Crucify
crucifige eum him.

15:14 Pilatus vero dicebat eis quid 14. Then Pilate said unto them, Why,
enim mali fecit at illi magis clamabant what evil hath he done? And they cried
crucifige eum out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.

15:15 Pilatus autem volens populo 15. And so Pilate, willing to content

15:16 milites autem duxerunt eum intro 16. And the soldiers led him away into
in atrium praetorii et convocant totam the hall, called Praetorium; and they
cohortem call together the whole band.

15:17 et induunt eum purpuram et 17. And they clothed him with purple,
inponunt ei plectentes spineam coronam and platted a crown of thorns, and put
                                             it about his head,

15:18 et coeperunt salutare eum have 18. And began to salute him, Hail,
rex Iudaeorum King of the Jews!

15:19 et percutiebant caput eius 19. And they smote him on the head
harundine et conspuebant eum et with a reed, and did spit upon him, and
ponentes genua adorabant eum bowing their knees worshipped him.

15:20 et postquam inluserunt ei 20. And when they had mocked him, they
exuerunt illum purpuram et induerunt took off the purple from him, and put
eum vestimentis suis et educunt illum his own clothes on him, and led him out
ut crucifigerent eum to crucify him.

15:23 et dabant ei bibere murratum 23. And they gave him to drink wine
vinum et non accepit mingled with myrrh: but he received it

15:34 et hora nona exclamavit Iesus 34. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried
voce magna dicens Heloi Heloi lama with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi,
