the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
16:3 et dicebant ad invicem quis 3. And they said among themselves, Who
revolvet nobis lapidem ab ostio shall roll us away the stone from the
monumenti door of the sepulchre?
16:4 et respicientes vident revolutum 4. And when they looked, they saw that
lapidem erat quippe magnus valde the stone was rolled away: for it was
very great.
16:5 et introeuntes in monumento 5. And entering into the sepulchre,
viderunt iuvenem sedentem in dextris they saw a young man sitting on the
coopertum stola candida et obstipuerunt right side, clothed in a long white
garment; and they were affrighted.
16:6 qui dicit illis nolite 6. And he saith unto them, Be not
expavescere Iesum quaeritis Nazarenum affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth,
crucifixum surrexit non est hic ecce which was crucified: he is risen; he is
locus ubi posuerunt eum not here: behold the place where they
laid him.
16:7 sed ite et dicite discipulis eius 7. But go your way, tell his disciples
et Petro quia praecedit vos in and Peter that he goeth before you into
Galilaeam ibi eum videbitis sicut dixit Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he
vobis said unto you.
16:8 at illae exeuntes fugerunt de 8. And they went out quickly, and fled
monumento invaserat enim eas tremor et from the sepulchre; for they trembled
pavor et nemini quicquam dixerunt and were amazed: neither said they any

16:9 surgens autem mane prima sabbati 9. Now when Jesus was risen early the
apparuit primo Mariae Magdalenae de qua first day of the week, he appeared
eiecerat septem daemonia first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he
had cast seven devils.
16:10 illa vadens nuntiavit his qui 10. And she went and told them that
cum eo fuerant lugentibus et flentibus had been with him, as they mourned and
wept.
16:11 et illi audientes quia viveret 11. And they, when they had heard that
et visus esset ab ea non crediderunt he was alive, and had been seen of her,
believed not.
16:12 post haec autem duobus ex eis 12. After that he appeared in another
ambulantibus ostensus est in alia form unto two of them, as they walked,
effigie euntibus in villam and went into the country.
16:13 et illi euntes nuntiaverunt 13. And they went and told it unto the
ceteris nec illis crediderunt residue: neither believed they them.
16:14 novissime recumbentibus illis 14. Afterward he appeared unto the
undecim apparuit et exprobravit eleven as they sat at meat, and
incredulitatem illorum et duritiam upbraided them with their unbelief and
cordis quia his qui viderant eum hardness of heart, because they
resurrexisse non crediderant believed not them which had seen him
after he was risen.
16:15 et dixit eis euntes in mundum 15. And he said unto them, Go ye into
universum praedicate evangelium omni all the world, and preach the gospel to
creaturae every creature.
16:16 qui crediderit et baptizatus 16. He that believeth and is baptized
fuerit salvus erit qui vero non shall be saved; but he that believeth
crediderit condemnabitur not shall be damned.
16:17 signa autem eos qui crediderint 17. And these signs shall follow them
haec sequentur in nomine meo daemonia that believe; In my name shall they
eicient linguis loquentur novis cast out devils; they shall speak with
new tongues;
16:18 serpentes tollent et si 18. They shall take up serpents; and
mortiferum quid biberint non eos if they drink any deadly thing, it
nocebit super aegrotos manus inponent shall not hurt them; they shall lay
et bene habebunt hands on the sick, and they shall
recover.
16:19 et Dominus quidem postquam 19. So then after the Lord had spoken
locutus est eis adsumptus est in caelum unto them, he was received up into
et sedit a dextris Dei heaven, and sat on the right hand of
God.
16:20 illi autem profecti 20. And they went forth, and preached
praedicaverunt ubique Domino every where, the Lord working with
