Brethren, my heart's desire and mei et obsecratio ad Deum fit pro illis prayer to God for Israel is, that they in salutem might be saved. 10:2 testimonium enim perhibeo illis 2. For I bear them record that they quod aemulationem Dei habent sed non have a zeal of God, but not according secundum scientiam to knowledge. 10:3 ignorantes enim Dei iustitiam et 3. For they being ignorant of God's suam quaerentes statuere iustitiae Dei righteousness, and going about to non sunt subiecti establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 10:4 finis enim legis Christus ad 4. For Christ is the end of the law iustitiam omni credenti for righteousness to every one that believeth. 10:5 Moses enim scripsit quoniam 5. For Moses describeth the iustitiam quae ex lege est qui fecerit righteousness which is of the law, That homo vivet in ea the man which doeth those things shall live by them. 10:6 quae autem ex fide est iustitia 6. But the righteousness which is of sic dicit ne dixeris in corde tuo quis faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in ascendit in caelum id est Christum thine heart, Who shall ascend into deducere heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 10:7 aut quis descendit in abyssum hoc 7. Or, Who shall descend into the est Christum ex mortuis revocare deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 10:8 sed quid dicit prope est verbum 8. But what saith it? The word is nigh in ore tuo et in corde tuo hoc est thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy verbum fidei quod praedicamus heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 10:9 quia si confitearis in ore tuo 9. That if thou shalt confess with thy Dominum Iesum et in corde tuo mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe credideris quod Deus illum excitavit ex in thine heart that God hath raised him mortuis salvus eris from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10:10 corde enim creditur ad iustitiam 10. For with the heart man believeth ore autem confessio fit in salutem unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 10:11 dicit enim scriptura omnis qui 11. For the scripture saith, Whosoever credit in illum non confundetur believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 10:12 non enim est distinctio Iudaei 12. For there is no difference between et Graeci nam idem Dominus omnium dives the Jew and the Greek: for the same in omnes qui invocant illum Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 10:13 omnis enim quicumque invocaverit 13. For whosoever shall call upon the nomen Domini salvus erit name of the Lord shall be saved. 10:14 quomodo ergo invocabunt in quem 14. How then shall they call on him in non crediderunt aut quomodo credent ei whom they have not believed? and how quem non audierunt quomodo autem shall they believe in him of whom they audient sine praedicante have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 10:15 quomodo vero praedicabunt nisi 15. And how shall they preach, except mittantur sicut scriptum est quam they be sent? as it is written, How speciosi pedes evangelizantium pacem beautiful are the feet of them that evangelizantium bona preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 10:16 sed non omnes oboedierunt 16. But they have not all obeyed the evangelio Esaias enim dicit Domine quis gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who credidit auditui nostro hath believed our report? 10:17 ergo fides ex auditu auditus 17. So then faith cometh by hearing, autem per verbum Christi and hearing by the word of God. 10:18 sed dico numquid non audierunt 18. But I say, Have they not heard? et quidem in omnem terram exiit sonus Yes verily, their sound went into all eorum et in fines orbis terrae verba the earth, and their words unto the eorum ends of the world. 10:19 sed dico numquid Israhel non 19. But I say, Did not Israel know? cognovit primus Moses dicit ego ad First Moses saith, I will provoke you aemulationem vos adducam in non gentem to jealousy by them that are no people, in gentem insipientem in iram vos mittam and by a foolish nation I will anger you. 10:20 Esaias autem audet et dicit 20. But Esaias is very bold, and inventus sum non quaerentibus me palam saith, I was found of them that sought apparui his qui me non interrogabant me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me. 10:21 ad Israhel autem dicit tota die 21.
