Shall we peccato ut gratia abundet continue in sin, that grace may abound? 6:2 absit qui enim mortui sumus 2. God forbid. How shall we, that are peccato quomodo adhuc vivemus in illo dead to sin, live any longer therein? 6:3 an ignoratis quia quicumque 3. Know ye not, that so many of us as baptizati sumus in Christo Iesu in were baptized into Jesus Christ were morte ipsius baptizati sumus baptized into his death? 6:4 consepulti enim sumus cum illo per 4. Therefore we are buried with him by baptismum in mortem ut quomodo surrexit baptism into death: that like as Christ Christus a mortuis per gloriam Patris was raised up from the dead by the ita et nos in novitate vitae ambulemus glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 6:5 si enim conplantati facti sumus 5. For if we have been planted similitudini mortis eius simul et together in the likeness of his death, resurrectionis erimus we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6:6 hoc scientes quia vetus homo 6. Knowing this, that our old man is noster simul crucifixus est ut crucified with him, that the body of destruatur corpus peccati ut ultra non sin might be destroyed, that henceforth serviamus peccato we should not serve sin. 6:7 qui enim mortuus est iustificatus 7. For he that is dead is freed from est a peccato sin. 6:8 si autem mortui sumus cum Christo 8. Now if we be dead with Christ, we credimus quia simul etiam vivemus cum believe that we shall also live with Christo him: 6:9 scientes quod Christus surgens ex 9. Knowing that Christ being raised mortuis iam non moritur mors illi ultra from the dead dieth no more; death hath non dominabitur no more dominion over him. 6:10 quod enim mortuus est peccato 10. For in that he died, he died unto mortuus est semel quod autem vivit sin once: but in that he liveth, he vivit Deo liveth unto God. 6:11 ita et vos existimate vos mortuos 11. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves quidem esse peccato viventes autem Deo to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive in Christo Iesu unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 6:12 non ergo regnet peccatum in 12. Let not sin therefore reign in vestro mortali corpore ut oboediatis your mortal body, that ye should obey concupiscentiis eius it in the lusts thereof. 6:13 sed neque exhibeatis membra 13. Neither yield ye your members as vestra arma iniquitatis peccato sed instruments of unrighteousness unto exhibete vos Deo tamquam ex mortuis sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as viventes et membra vestra arma those that are alive from the dead, and iustitiae Deo your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 6:14 peccatum enim vobis non 14. For sin shall not have dominion dominabitur non enim sub lege estis sed over you: for ye are not under the law, sub gratia but under grace. 6:15 quid ergo peccavimus quoniam non 15. What then? shall we sin, because sumus sub lege sed sub gratia absit we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 6:16 nescitis quoniam cui exhibetis 16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield vos servos ad oboediendum servi estis yourselves servants to obey, his eius cui oboeditis sive peccati sive servants ye are to whom ye obey; oboeditionis ad iustitiam whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 6:17 gratias autem Deo quod fuistis 17. But God be thanked, that ye were servi peccati oboedistis autem ex corde the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed in eam formam doctrinae in qua traditi from the heart that form of doctrine estis which was delivered you. 6:18 liberati autem a peccato servi 18. Being then made free from sin, ye facti estis iustitiae became the servants of righteousness. 6:19 humanum dico propter infirmitatem 19. I speak after the manner of men carnis vestrae sicut enim exhibuistis because of the infirmity of your flesh: membra vestra servire inmunditiae et for as ye have yielded your members iniquitati ad iniquitatem ita nunc servants to uncleanness and to iniquity exhibete membra vestra servire unto iniquity; even so now yield your iustitiae in sanctificationem members servants to righteousness unto holiness. 6:20 cum enim servi essetis peccati 20. For when ye were the servants of liberi fuistis iustitiae sin, ye were free from righteousness. 6:21 quem ergo fructum habuistis tunc 21. What fruit had ye then in those in quibus nunc erubescitis nam finis things whereof ye are now ashamed? for illorum mors est the end of those things is death. 6:22 nunc vero liberati a peccato 22. But now being made free from sin, servi autem facti Deo habetis fructum and become servants to God, ye have vestrum in sanctificationem finem vero your fruit unto holiness, and the end vitam aeternam everlasting life. 6:23 stipendia enim peccati mors 23.
