After these things Jesus shewed Iesus ad mare Tiberiadis manifestavit himself again to the disciples at the autem sic sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself. 21:2 erant simul Simon Petrus et 2. There were together Simon Peter, Thomas qui dicitur Didymus et and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanahel qui erat a Cana Galilaeae et Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the filii Zebedaei et alii ex discipulis sons of Zebedee, and two other of his eius duo disciples. 21:3 dicit eis Simon Petrus vado 3. Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a piscari dicunt ei venimus et nos tecum fishing. They say unto him, We also go et exierunt et ascenderunt in navem et with thee. They went forth, and entered illa nocte nihil prendiderunt into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. 21:4 mane autem iam facto stetit Iesus 4. But when the morning was now come, in litore non tamen cognoverunt Jesus stood on the shore: but the discipuli quia Iesus est disciples knew not that it was Jesus. 21:5 dicit ergo eis Iesus pueri 5. Then Jesus saith unto them, numquid pulmentarium habetis Children, have ye any meat? They responderunt ei non answered him, No. 21:6 dixit eis mittite in dexteram 6. And he said unto them, Cast the net navigii rete et invenietis miserunt on the right side of the ship, and ye ergo et iam non valebant illud trahere shall find. They cast therefore, and a multitudine piscium now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. 21:7 dicit ergo discipulus ille quem 7. Therefore that disciple whom Jesus diligebat Iesus Petro Dominus est Simon loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Petrus cum audisset quia Dominus est Now when Simon Peter heard that it was tunicam succinxit se erat enim nudus et the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat misit se in mare unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. 21:8 alii autem discipuli navigio 8. And the other disciples came in a venerunt non enim longe erant a terra little ship; (for they were not far sed quasi a cubitis ducentis trahentes from land, but as it were two hundred rete piscium cubits,) dragging the net with fishes. 21:9 ut ergo descenderunt in terram 9. As soon then as they were come to viderunt prunas positas et piscem land, they saw a fire of coals there, superpositum et panem and fish laid thereon, and bread. 21:10 dicit eis Iesus adferte de 10. Jesus saith unto them, Bring of piscibus quos prendidistis nunc the fish which ye have now caught. 21:11 ascendit Simon Petrus et traxit 11. Simon Peter went up, and drew the rete in terram plenum magnis piscibus net to land full of great fishes, an centum quinquaginta tribus et cum tanti hundred and fifty and three: and for essent non est scissum rete all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. 21:12 dicit eis Iesus venite prandete 12. Jesus saith unto them, Come and et nemo audebat discentium interrogare dine. And none of the disciples durst eum tu quis es scientes quia Dominus ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it esset was the Lord. 21:13 et venit Iesus et accepit panem 13. Jesus then cometh, and taketh et dat eis et piscem similiter bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise. 21:14 hoc iam tertio manifestatus est 14. This is now the third time that Iesus discipulis cum surrexisset a Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, mortuis after that he was risen from the dead. 21:15 cum ergo prandissent dicit 15. So when they had dined, Jesus Simoni Petro Iesus Simon Iohannis saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of diligis me plus his dicit ei etiam Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? Domine tu scis quia amo te dicit ei He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou pasce agnos meos knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. 21:16 dicit ei iterum Simon Iohannis 16. He saith to him again the second diligis me ait illi etiam Domine tu time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou scis quia amo te dicit ei pasce agnos me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou meos knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. 21:17 dicit ei tertio Simon Iohannis 17. He saith unto him the third time, amas me contristatus est Petrus quia Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? dixit ei tertio amas me et dicit ei Peter was grieved because he said unto Domine tu omnia scis tu scis quia amo him the third time, Lovest thou me? And te dicit ei pasce oves meas he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. 21:18 amen amen dico tibi cum esses 18. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, iunior cingebas te et ambulabas ubi When thou wast young, thou girdest volebas cum autem senueris extendes thyself, and walkedst whither thou manus tuas et alius te cinget et ducet wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, quo non vis thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. 21:19 hoc autem dixit significans qua 19. This spake he, signifying by what morte clarificaturus esset Deum et hoc death he should glorify God. And when cum dixisset dicit ei sequere me he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me. 21:20 conversus Petrus vidit illum 20. Then Peter, turning about, seeth discipulum quem diligebat Iesus the disciple whom Jesus loved sequentem qui et recubuit in cena super following; which also leaned on his pectus eius et dixit Domine quis est breast at supper, and said, Lord, which qui tradit te is he that betrayeth thee? 21:21 hunc ergo cum vidisset Petrus 21. Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, dicit Iesu Domine hic autem quid Lord, and what shall this man do? 21:22 dicit ei Iesus si sic eum volo 22. Jesus saith unto him, If I will manere donec veniam quid ad te tu me that he tarry till I come, what is that sequere to thee? follow thou me. 21:23 exivit ergo sermo iste in 23. Then went this saying abroad among fratres quia discipulus ille non the brethren, that that disciple should moritur et non dixit ei Iesus non not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, moritur sed si sic eum volo manere He shall not die; but, If I will that donec venio quid ad te he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? 21:24 hic est discipulus qui 24. This is the disciple which testimonium perhibet de his et scripsit testifieth of these things, and wrote haec et scimus quia verum est these things: and we know that his testimonium eius testimony is true. 21:25 sunt autem et alia multa quae 25. And there are also many other fecit Iesus quae si scribantur per things which Jesus did, the which, if singula nec ipsum arbitror mundum they should be written every one, I capere eos qui scribendi sunt libros suppose that even the world itself amen. could not contain the books that should be written.
