12:1 et signum magnum paruit in caelo 1. And there appeared a great wonder
mulier amicta sole et luna sub pedibus in heaven; a woman clothed with the
eius et in capite eius corona stellarum sun, and the moon under her feet, and
duodecim upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

12:2 et in utero habens et clamat 2. And she being with child cried,
parturiens et cruciatur ut pariat travailing in birth, and pained to be
                                             delivered.

12:3 et visum est aliud signum in 3. And there appeared another wonder
caelo et ecce draco magnus rufus habens in heaven; and behold a great red
capita septem et cornua decem et in dragon, having seven heads and ten
capitibus suis septem diademata horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

12:4 et cauda eius trahebat tertiam 4. And his tail drew the third part of
partem stellarum caeli et misit eas in the stars of heaven, and did cast them
terram et draco stetit ante mulierem to the earth: and the dragon stood
quae erat paritura ut cum peperisset before the woman which was ready to be
filium eius devoraret delivered, for to devour her child as
                                             soon as it was born.

12:5 et peperit filium masculum qui 5. And she brought forth a man child,

Deum et ad thronum eius unto God, and to his throne.

12:6 et mulier fugit in solitudinem 6. And the woman fled into the

12:7 et factum est proelium in caelo 7. And there was war in heaven:
Michahel et angeli eius proeliabantur Michael and his angels fought against
cum dracone et draco pugnabat et angeli the dragon; and the dragon fought and
eius his angels,

12:8 et non valuerunt neque locus 8. And prevailed not; neither was
inventus est eorum amplius in caelo their place found any more in heaven.

12:9 et proiectus est draco ille 9. And the great dragon was cast out,
magnus serpens antiquus qui vocatur that old serpent, called the Devil, and
Diabolus et Satanas qui seducit Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:
universum orbem proiectus est in terram he was cast out into the earth, and his
et angeli eius cum illo missi sunt angels were cast out with him.

12:10 et audivi vocem magnam in caelo 10. And I heard a loud voice saying in
dicentem nunc facta est salus et virtus heaven, Now is come salvation, and
et regnum Dei nostri et potestas strength, and the kingdom of our God,
Christi eius quia proiectus est and the power of his Christ: for the
accusator fratrum nostrorum qui accuser of our brethren is cast down,

12:11 et ipsi vicerunt illum propter 11. And they overcame him by the blood
sanguinem agni et propter verbum of the Lamb, and by the word of their
testimonii sui et non dilexerunt animam testimony; and they loved not their

12:12 propterea laetamini caeli et qui 12. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and
habitatis in eis vae terrae et mari ye that dwell in them. Woe to the
quia descendit diabolus ad vos habens inhabiters of the earth and of the sea!
iram magnam sciens quod modicum tempus for the devil is come down unto you,
habet having great wrath, because he knoweth
that he hath but a short time.

12:13 et postquam vidit draco quod 13. And when the dragon saw that he
proiectus est in terram persecutus est was cast unto the earth, he persecuted
mulierem quae peperit masculum the woman which brought forth the man
                                             child.

12:14 et datae sunt mulieri duae alae 14. And to the woman were given two
aquilae magnae ut volaret in desertum wings of a great eagle, that she might
in locum suum ubi alitur per tempus et fly into the wilderness, into her
tempora et dimidium temporis a facie place, where she is nourished for a

12:15 et misit serpens ex ore suo post 15. And the serpent cast out of his
mulierem aquam tamquam flumen ut eam mouth water as a flood after the woman,
faceret trahi a flumine that he might cause her to be carried
                                             away of the flood.

12:16 et adiuvit terra mulierem et 16. And the earth helped the woman,
aperuit terra os suum et absorbuit and the earth opened her mouth, and
flumen quod misit draco de ore suo swallowed up the flood which the dragon
                                             cast out of his mouth.

12:17 et iratus est draco in mulierem 17. And the dragon was wroth with the
