5:1 et vidi in dextera sedentis super 1. And I saw in the right hand of him
thronum librum scriptum intus et foris that sat on the throne a book written
signatum sigillis septem within and on the backside, sealed with
                                             seven seals.

5:2 et vidi angelum fortem 2. And I saw a strong angel
praedicantem voce magna quis est dignus proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is
aperire librum et solvere signacula eius worthy to open the book, and to loose
                                             the seals thereof?

5:3 et nemo poterat in caelo neque in 3. And no man in heaven, nor in earth,
terra neque subtus terram aperire neither under the earth, was able to
librum neque respicere illum open the book, neither to look thereon.

5:4 et ego flebam multum quoniam nemo 4. And I wept much, because no man was
dignus inventus est aperire librum nec found worthy to open and to read the
videre eum book, neither to look thereon.

5:5 et unus de senioribus dicit mihi 5. And one of the elders saith unto
ne fleveris ecce vicit leo de tribu me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the
Iuda radix David aperire librum et tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath
septem signacula eius prevailed to open the book, and to
                                             loose the seven seals thereof.

5:6 et vidi et ecce in medio throni et 6. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst
quattuor animalium et in medio seniorum of the throne and of the four beasts,
agnum stantem tamquam occisum habentem and in the midst of the elders, stood a
cornua septem et oculos septem qui sunt Lamb as it had been slain, having seven
spiritus Dei missi in omnem terram horns and seven eyes, which are the
seven Spirits of God sent forth into
                                             all the earth.

5:7 et venit et accepit de dextera 7. And he came and took the book out
sedentis de throno of the right hand of him that sat upon
                                             the throne.

5:8 et cum aperuisset librum quattuor 8. And when he had taken the book, the
animalia et viginti quattuor seniores four beasts and four and twenty elders
ceciderunt coram agno habentes singuli fell down before the Lamb, having every

sanctorum of saints.

5:9 et cantant novum canticum dicentes 9. And they sung a new song, saying,
dignus es accipere librum et aperire Thou art worthy to take the book, and
signacula eius quoniam occisus es et to open the seals thereof: for thou
redemisti nos Deo in sanguine tuo ex wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God
omni tribu et lingua et populo et by thy blood out of every kindred, and
natione                                      tongue, and people, and nation;

5:10 et fecisti eos Deo nostro regnum 10. And hast made us unto our God
et sacerdotes et regnabunt super terram kings and priests: and we shall reign
                                             on the earth.

5:11 et vidi et audivi vocem angelorum 11. And I beheld, and I heard the
multorum in circuitu throni et voice of many angels round about the
animalium et seniorum et erat numerus throne and the beasts and the elders:
eorum milia milium and the number of them was ten thousand
times ten thousand, and thousands of
                                             thousands;

5:12 dicentium voce magna dignus est 12. Saying with a loud voice, Worthy
agnus qui occisus est accipere virtutem is the Lamb that was slain to receive
et divinitatem et sapientiam et power, and riches, and wisdom, and
fortitudinem et honorem et gloriam et strength, and honour, and glory, and
benedictionem blessing.

5:13 et omnem creaturam quae in caelo 13. And every creature which is in
est et super terram et sub terram et heaven, and on the earth, and under the
quae sunt in mari et quae in ea omnes earth, and such as are in the sea, and
audivi dicentes sedenti in throno et all that are in them, heard I saying,
agno benedictio et honor et gloria et Blessing, and honour, and glory, and
potestas in saecula saeculorum power, be unto him that sitteth upon
the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever
                                             and ever.

5:14 et quattuor animalia dicebant 14. And the four beasts said, Amen.
amen et seniores ceciderunt et And the four and twenty elders fell
adoraverunt down and worshipped him that liveth for
                                             ever and ever.
