22:1  et ostendit mihi fluvium aquae         1.  And he shewed me a pure river of
vitae splendidum tamquam cristallum          water of life, clear as crystal,
procedentem de sede Dei et agni              proceeding out of the throne of God and
                                             of the Lamb.
22:2  in medio plateae eius et ex            2.  In the midst of the street of it,
utraque parte fluminis lignum vitae          and on either side of the river, was
adferens fructus duodecim per menses         there the tree of life, which bare
singula reddentia fructum suum et folia      twelve manner of fruits, and yielded
ligni ad sanitatem gentium                   her fruit every month: and the leaves
                                             of the tree were for the healing of the
                                             nations.
22:3  et omne maledictum non erit            3.  And there shall be no more curse:
amplius et sedes Dei et agni in illa         but the throne of God and of the Lamb
erunt et servi eius servient illi            shall be in it; and his servants shall
                                             serve him:
22:4  et videbunt faciem eius et nomen       4.  And they shall see his face; and
eius in frontibus eorum                      his name shall be in their foreheads.
22:5  et nox ultra non erit et non           5.  And there shall be no night there;
egebunt lumine lucernae neque lumine         and they need no candle, neither light
solis quoniam Dominus Deus inluminat         of the sun; for the Lord God giveth
illos et regnabunt in saecula saeculorum     them light: and they shall reign for
                                             ever and ever.
22:6  et dixit mihi haec verba               6.  And he said unto me, These sayings
fidelissima et vera sunt et Dominus          are faithful and true: and the Lord God
Deus spirituum prophetarum misit             of the holy prophets sent his angel to
angelum suum ostendere servis suis quae      shew unto his servants the things which
oportet fieri cito                           must shortly be done.
22:7  et ecce venio velociter beatus         7.  Behold, I come quickly: blessed is
qui custodit verba prophetiae libri          he that keepeth the sayings of the
huius                                        prophecy of this book.
22:8  et ego Iohannes qui audivi et          8.  And I John saw these things, and
vidi haec et postquam audissem et            heard them. And when I had heard and
vidissem cecidi ut adorarem ante pedes       seen, I fell down to worship before the
angeli qui mihi haec ostendebat              feet of the angel which shewed me these
                                             things.
22:9  et dicit mihi vide ne feceris          9.  Then saith he unto me, See thou do
conservus tuus sum et fratrum tuorum         it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and
prophetarum et eorum qui servant verba       of thy brethren the prophets, and of
libri huius Deum adora                       them which keep the sayings of this
                                             book: worship God.
22:10  et dicit mihi ne signaveris           10.  And he saith unto me, Seal not the
verba prophetiae libri huius tempus          sayings of the prophecy of this book:
enim prope est                               for the time is at hand.
22:11  qui nocet noceat adhuc et qui in      11.  He that is unjust, let him be
sordibus est sordescat adhuc et iustus       unjust still: and he which is filthy,
iustitiam faciat adhuc et sanctus            let him be filthy still: and he that is
sanctificetur adhuc                          righteous, let him be righteous still:
                                             and he that is holy, let him be holy
                                             still.
22:12  ecce venio cito et merces mea         12.  And, behold, I come quickly; and
mecum est reddere unicuique secundum         my reward is with me, to give every man
opera sua                                    according as his work shall be.
22:13  ego Alpha et Omega primus et          13.  I am Alpha and Omega, the
novissimus principium et finis               beginning and the end, the first and
                                             the last.
22:14  beati qui lavant stolas suas ut       14.  Blessed are they that do his
sit potestas eorum in ligno vitae et         commandments, that they may have right
portis intrent in civitatem                  to the tree of life, and may enter in
                                             through the gates into the city.
22:15  foris canes et venefici et            15.  For without are dogs, and
inpudici et homicidae et idolis              sorcerers, and whoremongers, and
servientes et omnis qui amat et facit        murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever
mendacium                                    loveth and maketh a lie.
22:16  ego Iesus misi angelum meum           16.  I Jesus have sent mine angel to
testificari vobis haec in ecclesiis ego      testify unto you these things in the
sum radix et genus David stella              churches. I am the root and the
splendida et matutina                        offspring of David, and the bright and
                                             morning star.
22:17  et Spiritus et sponsa dicunt          17.  And the Spirit and the bride say,
veni et qui audit dicat veni et qui          Come. And let him that heareth say,
sitit veniat qui vult accipiat aquam         Come. And let him that is athirst come.
vitae gratis                                 And whosoever will, let him take the
                                             water of life freely.
22:18  contestor ego omni audienti           18.  For I testify unto every man that
verba prophetiae libri huius si quis         heareth the words of the prophecy of
adposuerit ad haec adponet Deus super        this book, If any man shall add unto
illum plagas scriptas in libro isto          these things, God shall add unto him
                                             the plagues that are written in this
                                             book:
22:19  et si quis deminuerit de verbis       19.  And if any man shall take away
libri prophetiae huius auferet Deus          from the words of the book of this
partem eius de ligno vitae et de             prophecy, God shall take away his part
civitate sancta et de his quae scripta       out of the book of life, and out of the
sunt in libro isto                           holy city, and from the things which
                                             are written in this book.
22:20  dicit qui testimonium perhibet        20.  He which testifieth these things
istorum etiam venio cito amen veni           saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen.
Domine Iesu                                  Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
22:21  gratia Domini nostri Iesu             21.  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
Christi cum omnibus                          be with you all. Amen.
