And there came one of the seven qui habebant septem fialas et locutus angels which had the seven vials, and est mecum dicens veni ostendam tibi talked with me, saying unto me, Come damnationem meretricis magnae quae hither; I will shew unto thee the sedet super aquas multas judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: 17:2 cum qua fornicati sunt reges 2. And the woman was arrayed in purple et coccino et inaurata auro et lapide and scarlet colour, and decked with pretioso et margaritis habens poculum gold and precious stones and pearls, aureum in manu sua plenum abominationum having a golden cup in her hand full of et inmunditia fornicationis eius abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 17:5 et in fronte eius nomen scriptum 5. And upon her forehead was a name mysterium Babylon magna mater written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, fornicationum et abominationum terrae THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 17:6 et vidi mulierem ebriam de 6. And I saw the woman drunken with sanguine sanctorum et de sanguine the blood of the saints, and with the martyrum Iesu et miratus sum cum blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when vidissem illam admiratione magna I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. 17:7 et dixit mihi angelus quare 7. And the angel said unto me, miraris ego tibi dicam sacramentum Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will mulieris et bestiae quae portat eam tell thee the mystery of the woman, and quae habet capita septem et decem cornua of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. 17:8 bestiam quam vidisti fuit et non 8. The beast that thou sawest was, and est et ascensura est de abysso et in is not; and shall ascend out of the interitum ibit et mirabuntur bottomless pit, and go into perdition: inhabitantes terram quorum non sunt and they that dwell on the earth shall scripta nomina in libro vitae a wonder, whose names were not written in constitutione mundi videntes bestiam the book of life from the foundation of quia erat et non est the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 17:9 et hic est sensus qui habet 9. And here is the mind which hath sapientiam septem capita septem montes wisdom. The seven heads are seven sunt super quos mulier sedet et reges mountains, on which the woman sitteth. septem sunt 17:10 quinque ceciderunt unus est 10. And there are seven kings: five alius nondum venit et cum venerit are fallen, and one is, and the other oportet illum breve tempus manere is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 17:11 et bestia quae erat et non est 11. And the beast that was, and is et ipsa octava est et de septem est et not, even he is the eighth, and is of in interitum vadit the seven, and goeth into perdition. 17:12 et decem cornua quae vidisti 12. And the ten horns which thou decem reges sunt qui regnum nondum sawest are ten kings, which have acceperunt sed potestatem tamquam reges received no kingdom as yet; but receive una hora accipiunt post bestiam power as kings one hour with the beast. 17:13 hii unum consilium habent et 13. These have one mind, and shall virtutem et potestatem suam bestiae give their power and strength unto the tradunt beast. 17:14 hii cum agno pugnabunt et agnus 14. These shall make war with the vincet illos quoniam Dominus dominorum Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: est et rex regum et qui cum illo sunt for he is Lord of lords, and King of vocati et electi et fideles kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. 17:15 et dixit mihi aquas quas vidisti 15. And he saith unto me, The waters ubi meretrix sedet populi sunt et which thou sawest, where the whore gentes et linguae sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. 17:16 et decem cornua quae vidisti et 16. And the ten horns which thou bestiam hii odient fornicariam et sawest upon the beast, these shall hate desolatam facient illam et nudam et the whore, and shall make her desolate carnes eius manducabunt et ipsam igni and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and concremabunt burn her with fire. 17:17 Deus enim dedit in corda eorum 17. For God hath put in their hearts ut faciant quod illi placitum est ut to fulfil his will, and to agree, and dent regnum suum bestiae donec give their kingdom unto the beast, consummentur verba Dei until the words of God shall be fulfilled. 17:18 et mulier quam vidisti est 18.
