13:2 et bestiam quam vidi similis erat 2. And the beast which I saw was like
pardo et pedes eius sicut ursi et os unto a leopard, and his feet were as
eius sicut os leonis et dedit illi the feet of a bear, and his mouth as
draco virtutem suam et potestatem magnam the mouth of a lion: and the dragon
gave him his power, and his seat, and
                                             great authority.

13:3 et unum de capitibus suis quasi 3. And I saw one of his heads as it
occisum in mortem et plaga mortis eius were wounded to death; and his deadly
curata est et admirata est universa wound was healed: and all the world
terra post bestiam wondered after the beast.

13:4 et adoraverunt draconem quia 4. And they worshipped the dragon
dedit potestatem bestiae et adoraverunt which gave power unto the beast: and
bestiam dicentes quis similis bestiae they worshipped the beast, saying, Who
et quis poterit pugnare cum ea is like unto the beast? who is able to
                                             make war with him?

13:5 et datum est ei os loquens magna 5. And there was given unto him a
et blasphemiae et data est illi mouth speaking great things and
potestas facere menses quadraginta duo blasphemies; and power was given unto
him to continue forty and two months.

13:6 et aperuit os suum in blasphemias 6. And he opened his mouth in
ad Deum blasphemare nomen eius et blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his
tabernaculum eius et eos qui in caelo name, and his tabernacle, and them that
habitant dwell in heaven.

13:7 et datum est illi bellum facere 7. And it was given unto him to make
cum sanctis et vincere illos et data war with the saints, and to overcome
est ei potestas in omnem tribum et them: and power was given him over all
populum et linguam et gentem kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

13:8 et adorabunt eum omnes qui 8. And all that dwell upon the earth
inhabitant terram quorum non sunt shall worship him, whose names are not
scripta nomina in libro vitae agni qui written in the book of life of the Lamb
occisus est ab origine mundi slain from the foundation of the world.

13:9 si quis habet aurem audiat 9. If any man have an ear, let him
                                             hear.

13:10 qui in captivitatem in 10. He that leadeth into captivity
captivitatem vadit qui in gladio shall go into captivity: he that
occiderit oportet eum gladio occidi hic killeth with the sword must be killed
est patientia et fides sanctorum with the sword. Here is the patience
and the faith of the saints.

13:11 et vidi aliam bestiam 11. And I beheld another beast coming
ascendentem de terra et habebat cornua up out of the earth; and he had two
duo similia agni et loquebatur sicut horns like a lamb, and he spake as a
draco dragon.

adorare bestiam primam cuius curata est to worship the first beast, whose
plaga mortis deadly wound was healed.

13:13 et fecit signa magna ut etiam 13. And he doeth great wonders, so
ignem faceret de caelo descendere in that he maketh fire come down from
terram in conspectu hominum heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

13:14 et seducit habitantes terram 14. And deceiveth them that dwell on
propter signa quae data sunt illi the earth by the means of those
facere in conspectu bestiae dicens miracles which he had power to do in
habitantibus in terra ut faciant the sight of the beast; saying to them
imaginem bestiae quae habet plagam that dwell on the earth, that they
gladii et vixit should make an image to the beast,
which had the wound by a sword, and did
                                             live.

13:15 et datum est illi ut daret 15. And he had power to give life unto
spiritum imagini bestiae ut et loquatur the image of the beast, that the image
imago bestiae et faciat quicumque non of the beast should both speak, and
adoraverint imaginem bestiae occidantur cause that as many as would not worship
the image of the beast should be killed.

13:16 et faciet omnes pusillos et 16. And he causeth all, both small and
magnos et divites et pauperes et great, rich and poor, free and bond, to
liberos et servos habere caracter in receive a mark in their right hand, or
dextera manu aut in frontibus suis in their foreheads:

13:17 et ne quis possit emere aut 17. And that no man might buy or sell,
vendere nisi qui habet caracter nomen save he that had the mark, or the name
bestiae aut numerum nominis eius of the beast, or the number of his name.

13:18 hic sapientia est qui habet 18. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath
intellectum conputet numerum bestiae understanding count the number of the
numerus enim hominis est et numerus          beast: for it is the number of a man;
eius est sescenti sexaginta sex and his number is Six hundred
                                             threescore and six.
