4:3 dixit autem illi diabolus si 3. And the devil said unto him, If

4:4 et respondit ad illum Iesus 4. And Jesus answered him, saying, It
scriptum est quia non in pane solo is written, That man shall not live by

4:5 et duxit illum diabolus et 5. And the devil, taking him up into

4:13 et consummata omni temptatione 13. And when the devil had ended all
diabolus recessit ab illo usque ad the temptation, he departed from him

4:14 et regressus est Iesus in virtute 14. And Jesus returned in the power of
Spiritus in Galilaeam et fama exiit per the Spirit into Galilee: and there went
universam regionem de illo out a fame of him through all the

4:15 et ipse docebat in synagogis 15. And he taught in their synagogues,
eorum et magnificabatur ab omnibus being glorified of all.

4:16 et venit Nazareth ubi erat 16. And he came to Nazareth, where he
nutritus et intravit secundum had been brought up: and, as his custom

synagogam et surrexit legere sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

4:17 et traditus est illi liber 17. And there was delivered unto him
prophetae Esaiae et ut revolvit librum the book of the prophet Esaias. And
invenit locum ubi scriptum erat when he had opened the book, he found
the place where it was written,

                                             deliverance to the captives, and
recovering of sight to the blind, to
set at liberty them that are bruised,

oculi erant intendentes in eum down. And the eyes of all them that
were in the synagogue were fastened on
                                             him.

4:21 coepit autem dicere ad illos quia 21. And he began to say unto them,

auribus vestris your ears.

4:22 et omnes testimonium illi dabant 22. And all bare him witness, and

4:25 in veritate dico vobis multae 25. But I tell you of a truth, many
viduae erant in diebus Heliae in widows were in Israel in the days of
Israhel quando clusum est caelum annis Elias, when the heaven was shut up

fames magna in omni terra                    famine was throughout all the land;

4:26 et ad nullam illarum missus est 26. But unto none of them was Elias

mulierem viduam Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

4:27 et multi leprosi erant in Israhel 27. And many lepers were in Israel in
sub Heliseo propheta et nemo eorum the time of Eliseus the prophet; and
mundatus est nisi Neman Syrus none of them was cleansed, saving

4:28 et repleti sunt omnes in synagoga 28. And all they in the synagogue,
ira haec audientes when they heard these things, were

4:33 et in synagoga erat homo habens 33. And in the synagogue there was a
daemonium inmundum et exclamavit voce man, which had a spirit of an unclean

4:35 et increpavit illi Iesus dicens 35. And Jesus rebuked him, saying,

Galilaeae of Galilee.
