Then he called his twelve disciples apostolis dedit illis virtutem et together, and gave them power and potestatem super omnia daemonia et ut authority over all devils, and to cure languores curarent diseases. 9:2 et misit illos praedicare regnum 2. And he sent them to preach the Dei et sanare infirmos kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. 9:3 et ait ad illos nihil tuleritis in 3. And he said unto them, Take nothing via neque virgam neque peram neque for your journey, neither staves, nor panem neque pecuniam neque duas tunicas scrip, neither bread, neither money; habeatis neither have two coats apiece. 9:4 et in quamcumque domum 4. And whatsoever house ye enter into, intraveritis ibi manete et inde ne there abide, and thence depart. exeatis 9:5 et quicumque non receperint vos 5. And he desired to see him. 9:10 et reversi apostoli narraverunt 10. And when the day began to wear accedentes duodecim dixerunt illi away, then came the twelve, and said dimitte turbas ut euntes in castella unto him, Send the multitude away, that villasque quae circa sunt devertant et they may go into the towns and country inveniant escas quia hic in loco round about, and lodge, and get deserto sumus victuals: for we are here in a desert place. 9:13 ait autem ad illos vos date illis 13. But he said unto them, Give ye manducare at illi dixerunt non sunt them to eat. And they said, We have no nobis plus quam quinque panes et duo more but five loaves and two fishes; pisces nisi forte nos eamus et emamus except we should go and buy meat for in omnem hanc turbam escas all this people. 9:14 erant autem fere viri quinque 14. For they were about five thousand milia ait autem ad discipulos suos men. And he said to his disciples, Make facite illos discumbere per convivia them sit down by fifties in a company. quinquagenos 9:15 et ita fecerunt et discumbere 15. And they did so, and made them all fecerunt omnes sit down. 9:16 acceptis autem quinque panibus et 16. Then he took the five loaves and duobus piscibus respexit in caelum et the two fishes, and looking up to benedixit illis et fregit et distribuit heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and discipulis suis ut ponerent ante turbas gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. 9:17 et manducaverunt omnes et 17. And they did eat, and were all saturati sunt et sublatum est quod filled: and there was taken up of superfuit illis fragmentorum cofini fragments that remained to them twelve duodecim baskets. 9:18 et factum est cum solus esset 18. And it came to pass, as he was orans erant cum illo et discipuli et alone praying, his disciples were with interrogavit illos dicens quem me him: and he asked them, saying, Whom dicunt esse turbae say the people that I am? 9:19 at illi responderunt et dixerunt 19. They answering said, John the Iohannem Baptistam alii autem Heliam Baptist; but some say, Elias; and alii quia propheta unus de prioribus others say, that one of the old surrexit prophets is risen again. 9:20 dixit autem illis vos autem quem 20. He said unto them, But whom say ye me esse dicitis respondens Simon Petrus that I am? Peter answering said, The dixit Christum Dei Christ of God. 9:21 at ille increpans illos praecepit 21. And he straitly charged them, and ne cui dicerent hoc commanded them to tell no man that thing; 9:22 dicens quia oportet Filium 22. Saying, The Son of man must suffer hominis multa pati et reprobari a many things, and be rejected of the senioribus et principibus sacerdotum et elders and chief priests and scribes, scribis et occidi et tertia die and be slain, and be raised the third resurgere day. 9:23 dicebat autem ad omnes si quis 23. And he said to them all, If any vult post me venire abneget se ipsum et man will come after me, let him deny tollat crucem suam cotidie et sequatur himself, and take up his cross daily, me and follow me. 9:24 qui enim voluerit animam suam 24. For whosoever will save his life salvam facere perdet illam nam qui shall lose it: but whosoever will lose perdiderit animam suam propter me his life for my sake, the same shall salvam faciet illam save it. 9:25 quid enim proficit homo si 25. For what is a man advantaged, if lucretur universum mundum se autem he gain the whole world, and lose ipsum perdat et detrimentum sui faciat himself, or be cast away? 9:26 nam qui me erubuerit et meos 26. For whosoever shall be ashamed of sermones hunc Filius hominis erubescet me and of my words, of him shall the cum venerit in maiestate sua et Patris Son of man be ashamed, when he shall et sanctorum angelorum come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. 9:27 dico autem vobis vere sunt aliqui 27. But I tell you of a truth, there hic stantes qui non gustabunt mortem be some standing here, which shall not donec videant regnum Dei taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God. 9:28 factum est autem post haec verba 28. And it came to pass, as they illo ait Petrus ad Iesum praeceptor departed from him, Peter said unto bonum est nos hic esse et faciamus tria Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be tabernacula unum tibi et unum Mosi et here: and let us make three unum Heliae nesciens quid diceret tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said. 9:34 haec autem illo loquente facta 34. While he thus spake, there came a est nubes et obumbravit eos et cloud, and overshadowed them: and they timuerunt intrantibus illis in nubem feared as they entered into the cloud. 9:35 et vox facta est de nube dicens 35. And there came a voice out of the hic est Filius meus electus ipsum audite cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. 9:36 et dum fieret vox inventus est 36. And when the voice was past, Jesus Iesus solus et ipsi tacuerunt et nemini was found alone. And they kept it dixerunt in illis diebus quicquam ex close, and told no man in those days his quae viderant any of those things which they had seen. 9:37 factum est autem in sequenti die 37. And it came to pass, that on the descendentibus illis de monte occurrit next day, when they were come down from illi turba multa the hill, much people met him. 9:38 et ecce vir de turba exclamavit 38. And Jesus answering said, O generatio infidelis et perversa faithless and perverse generation, how usquequo ero apud vos et patiar vos long shall I be with you, and suffer adduc huc filium tuum you? Bring thy son hither. 9:42 et cum accederet elisit illum 42. And as he was yet a coming, the daemonium et dissipavit devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father. 9:43 et increpavit Iesus spiritum 43. And they were all amazed at the inmundum et sanavit puerum et reddidit mighty power of God. But while they illum patri eius wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples, 9:44 stupebant autem omnes in 44. And said unto them, Whosoever puerum istum in nomine meo me recipit shall receive this child in my name et quicumque me recipit recipit eum qui receiveth me: and whosoever shall me misit nam qui minor est inter omnes receive me receiveth him that sent me: vos hic maior est for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great. 9:49 respondens autem Iohannes dixit 49. And John answered and said, praeceptor vidimus quendam in nomine Master, we saw one casting out devils tuo eicientem daemonia et prohibuimus in thy name; and we forbad him, because eum quia non sequitur nobiscum he followeth not with us. 9:50 et ait ad illum Iesus nolite 50. And Jesus said unto him, Forbid prohibere qui enim non est adversum vos him not: for he that is not against us pro vobis est is for us. 9:51 factum est autem dum conplerentur 51. And it came to pass, when the time dies adsumptionis eius et ipse faciem was come that he should be received up, suam firmavit ut iret Hierusalem he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, 9:52 et misit nuntios ante conspectum 52. And they did not receive him, eius erat euntis Hierusalem because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem. 9:54 cum vidissent autem discipuli 54. And when his disciples James and eius Iacobus et Iohannes dixerunt John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt Domine vis dicimus ut ignis descendat thou that we command fire to come down de caelo et consumat illos from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 9:55 et conversus increpavit illos 55. But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. 9:56 et abierunt in aliud castellum 56. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. 9:57 factum est autem ambulantibus 57. And it came to pass, that, as they illis in via dixit quidam ad illum went in the way, a certain man said sequar te quocumque ieris unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. 9:58 et ait illi Iesus vulpes foveas 58. And Jesus said unto him, Foxes habent et volucres caeli nidos Filius have holes, and birds of the air have autem hominis non habet ubi caput nests; but the Son of man hath not reclinet where to lay his head. 9:59 ait autem ad alterum sequere me 59. And he said unto another, Follow ille autem dixit Domine permitte mihi me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first primum ire sepelire patrem meum to go and bury my father. 9:60 dixitque ei Iesus sine ut mortui 60. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead sepeliant mortuos suos tu autem vade bury their dead: but go thou and preach adnuntia regnum Dei the kingdom of God. 9:61 et ait alter sequar te Domine sed 61. And another also said, Lord, I primum permitte mihi renuntiare his qui will follow thee; but let me first go domi sunt bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. 9:62 ait ad illum Iesus nemo mittens 62.
