13:1 in illo die exiens Iesus de domo 1. The same day went Jesus out of the
sedebat secus mare house, and sat by the sea side.

13:2 et congregatae sunt ad eum turbae 2. And great multitudes were gathered
multae ita ut in naviculam ascendens together unto him, so that he went into
sederet et omnis turba stabat in litore a ship, and sat; and the whole
                                             multitude stood on the shore.

13:3 et locutus est eis multa in 3. And he spake many things unto them
parabolis dicens ecce exiit qui seminat in parables, saying, Behold, a sower
seminare                                     went forth to sow;

13:4 et dum seminat quaedam ceciderunt 4. And when he sowed, some seeds fell
secus viam et venerunt volucres et by the way side, and the fowls came and
comederunt ea                                devoured them up:

13:5 alia autem ceciderunt in petrosa 5. Some fell upon stony places, where
ubi non habebat terram multam et they had not much earth: and forthwith
continuo exorta sunt quia non habebant they sprung up, because they had no

13:6 sole autem orto aestuaverunt et 6. And when the sun was up, they were
quia non habebant radicem aruerunt scorched; and because they had no root,
                                             they withered away.

13:7 alia autem ceciderunt in spinas et 7. And some fell among thorns; and the
creverunt spinae et suffocaverunt ea thorns sprung up, and choked them:

13:8 alia vero ceciderunt in terram 8. But other fell into good ground,

tricesimum                                   thirtyfold.

13:9 qui habet aures audiendi audiat 9. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

13:10 et accedentes discipuli dixerunt 10. And the disciples came, and said
ei quare in parabolis loqueris eis unto him, Why speakest thou unto them
                                             in parables?

13:11 qui respondens ait illis quia 11. He answered and said unto them,
vobis datum est nosse mysteria regni Because it is given unto you to know

                                             but to them it is not given.

13:12 qui enim habet dabitur ei et 12. For whosoever hath, to him shall

13:13 ideo in parabolis loquor eis quia 13. Therefore speak I to them in
videntes non vident et audientes non         parables: because they seeing see not;

13:14 et adimpletur eis prophetia 14. And in them is fulfilled the

                                             let him hear.

13:44 simile est regnum caelorum 44. Again, the kingdom of heaven is
thesauro abscondito in agro quem qui like unto treasure hid in a field; the
invenit homo abscondit et prae gaudio which when a man hath found, he hideth,
illius vadit et vendit universa quae and for joy thereof goeth and selleth

13:45 iterum simile est regnum caelorum 45. Again, the kingdom of heaven is
homini negotiatori quaerenti bonas like unto a merchant man, seeking
margaritas                                   goodly pearls:

13:46 inventa autem una pretiosa 46. Who, when he had found one pearl
margarita abiit et vendidit omnia quae of great price, went and sold all that
habuit et emit eam he had, and bought it.

13:47 iterum simile est regnum caelorum 47. Again, the kingdom of heaven is
sagenae missae in mare et ex omni like unto a net, that was cast into the
genere congreganti sea, and gathered of every kind:

13:48 quam cum impleta esset educentes 48. Which, when it was full, they drew

13:49 sic erit in consummatione saeculi 49. So shall it be at the end of the
exibunt angeli et separabunt malos de world: the angels shall come forth, and
medio iustorum sever the wicked from among the just,

13:50 et mittent eos in caminum ignis 50. And shall cast them into the

                                             and gnashing of teeth.

13:51 intellexistis haec omnia dicunt 51. Jesus saith unto them, Have ye
ei etiam understood all these things? They say
                                             unto him, Yea, Lord.

13:52 ait illis ideo omnis scriba 52. Then said he unto them, Therefore

Iesus parabolas istas transiit inde Jesus had finished these parables, he
                                             departed thence.
