And Jesus went out, and departed et accesserunt discipuli eius ut from the temple: and his disciples came ostenderent ei aedificationes templi to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 24:2 ipse autem respondens dixit eis 2. And Jesus said unto them, See ye videtis haec omnia amen dico vobis non not all these things? verily I say unto relinquetur hic lapis super lapidem qui you, There shall not be left here one non destruatur stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 24:3 sedente autem eo super montem 3. And as he sat upon the mount of Oliveti accesserunt ad eum discipuli Olives, the disciples came unto him secreto dicentes dic nobis quando haec privately, saying, Tell us, when shall erunt et quod signum adventus tui et these things be? and what shall be the consummationis saeculi sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 24:4 et respondens Iesus dixit eis 4. And Jesus answered and said unto videte ne quis vos seducat them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 24:5 multi enim venient in nomine meo 5. For many shall come in my name, dicentes ego sum Christus et multos saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive seducent many. 24:6 audituri autem estis proelia et 6. And ye shall hear of wars and opiniones proeliorum videte ne rumours of wars: see that ye be not turbemini oportet enim haec fieri sed troubled: for all these things must nondum est finis come to pass, but the end is not yet. 24:7 consurget enim gens in gentem et 7. For nation shall rise against regnum in regnum et erunt pestilentiae nation, and kingdom against kingdom: et fames et terraemotus per loca and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 24:8 haec autem omnia initia sunt 8. All these are the beginning of dolorum sorrows. 24:9 tunc tradent vos in tribulationem 9. Then shall they deliver you up to et occident vos et eritis odio omnibus be afflicted, and shall kill you: and gentibus propter nomen meum ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 24:10 et tunc scandalizabuntur multi et 10. And then shall many be offended, invicem tradent et odio habebunt invicem and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 24:11 et multi pseudoprophetae surgent 11. And many false prophets shall et seducent multos rise, and shall deceive many. 24:12 et quoniam abundabit iniquitas 12. And because iniquity shall abound, refrigescet caritas multorum the love of many shall wax cold. 24:13 qui autem permanserit usque in 13. But he that shall endure unto the finem hic salvus erit end, the same shall be saved. 24:14 et praedicabitur hoc evangelium 14. And this gospel of the kingdom regni in universo orbe in testimonium shall be preached in all the world for omnibus gentibus et tunc veniet a witness unto all nations; and then consummatio shall the end come. 24:15 cum ergo videritis abominationem 15. When ye therefore shall see the desolationis quae dicta est a Danihelo abomination of desolation, spoken of by propheta stantem in loco sancto qui Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy legit intellegat place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 24:16 tunc qui in Iudaea sunt fugiant 16. Then let them which be in Judaea ad montes flee into the mountains: 24:17 et qui in tecto non descendat 17. Let him which is on the housetop tollere aliquid de domo sua not come down to take any thing out of his house: 24:18 et qui in agro non revertatur 18. Neither let him which is in the tollere tunicam suam field return back to take his clothes. 24:19 vae autem praegnatibus et 19. And woe unto them that are with nutrientibus in illis diebus child, and to them that give suck in those days! 24:20 orate autem ut non fiat fuga 20. But pray ye that your flight be vestra hieme vel sabbato not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 24:21 erit enim tunc tribulatio magna 21. For then shall be great qualis non fuit ab initio mundi usque tribulation, such as was not since the modo neque fiet beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 24:22 et nisi breviati fuissent dies 22. And except those days should be illi non fieret salva omnis caro sed shortened, there should no flesh be propter electos breviabuntur dies illi saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 24:23 tunc si quis vobis dixerit ecce 23. Then if any man shall say unto hic Christus aut illic nolite credere you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24:24 surgent enim pseudochristi et 24. For there shall arise false pseudoprophetae et dabunt signa magna Christs, and false prophets, and shall et prodigia ita ut in errorem shew great signs and wonders; insomuch inducantur si fieri potest etiam electi that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 24:25 ecce praedixi vobis 25. Behold, I have told you before. 24:26 si ergo dixerint vobis ecce in 26. Wherefore if they shall say unto deserto est nolite exire ecce in you, Behold, he is in the desert; go penetrabilibus nolite credere not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 24:27 sicut enim fulgur exit ab oriente 27. For as the lightning cometh out of et paret usque in occidente ita erit et the east, and shineth even unto the adventus Filii hominis west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 24:28 ubicumque fuerit corpus illuc 28. For wheresoever the carcase is, congregabuntur aquilae there will the eagles be gathered together. 24:29 statim autem post tribulationem 29. Immediately after the tribulation dierum illorum sol obscurabitur et luna of those days shall the sun be non dabit lumen suum et stellae cadent darkened, and the moon shall not give de caelo et virtutes caelorum her light, and the stars shall fall commovebuntur from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 24:30 et tunc parebit signum Filii 30. And then shall appear the sign of hominis in caelo et tunc plangent omnes the Son of man in heaven: and then tribus terrae et videbunt Filium shall all the tribes of the earth hominis venientem in nubibus caeli cum mourn, and they shall see the Son of virtute multa et maiestate man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 24:31 et mittet angelos suos cum tuba 31. And he shall send his angels with et voce magna et congregabunt electos a great sound of a trumpet, and they eius a quattuor ventis a summis shall gather together his elect from caelorum usque ad terminos eorum the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 24:32 ab arbore autem fici discite 32. Now learn a parable of the fig parabolam cum iam ramus eius tener tree; When his branch is yet tender, fuerit et folia nata scitis quia prope and putteth forth leaves, ye know that est aestas summer is nigh: 24:33 ita et vos cum videritis haec 33. So likewise ye, when ye shall see omnia scitote quia prope est in ianuis all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 24:34 amen dico vobis quia non 34. Verily I say unto you, This praeteribit haec generatio donec omnia generation shall not pass, till all haec fiant these things be fulfilled. 24:35 caelum et terra transibunt verba 35. Heaven and earth shall pass away, vero mea non praeteribunt but my words shall not pass away. 24:36 de die autem illa et hora nemo 36. But of that day and hour knoweth scit neque angeli caelorum nisi Pater no man, no, not the angels of heaven, solus but my Father only. 24:37 sicut autem in diebus Noe ita 37. But as the days of Noe were, so erit et adventus Filii hominis shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 24:38 sicut enim erant in diebus ante 38. For as in the days that were diluvium comedentes et bibentes before the flood they were eating and nubentes et nuptum tradentes usque ad drinking, marrying and giving in eum diem quo introivit in arcam Noe marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 24:39 et non cognoverunt donec venit 39. And knew not until the flood came, diluvium et tulit omnes ita erit et and took them all away; so shall also adventus Filii hominis the coming of the Son of man be. 24:40 tunc duo erunt in agro unus 40. Then shall two be in the field; adsumetur et unus relinquetur the one shall be taken, and the other left. 24:41 duae molentes in mola una 41. Two women shall be grinding at the adsumetur et una relinquetur mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 24:42 vigilate ergo quia nescitis qua 42. Watch therefore: for ye know not hora Dominus vester venturus sit what hour your Lord doth come. 24:43 illud autem scitote quoniam si 43. But know this, that if the goodman sciret pater familias qua hora fur of the house had known in what watch venturus esset vigilaret utique et non the thief would come, he would have sineret perfodiri domum suam watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 24:44 ideoque et vos estote parati quia 44. Therefore be ye also ready: for in qua nescitis hora Filius hominis such an hour as ye think not the Son of venturus est man cometh. 24:45 quis putas est fidelis servus et 45. Who then is a faithful and wise prudens quem constituit dominus suus servant, whom his lord hath made ruler supra familiam suam ut det illis cibum over his household, to give them meat in tempore in due season? 24:46 beatus ille servus quem cum 46. Blessed is that servant, whom his venerit dominus eius invenerit sic lord when he cometh shall find so doing. facientem 24:47 amen dico vobis quoniam super 47. Verily I say unto you, That he omnia bona sua constituet eum shall make him ruler over all his goods. 24:48 si autem dixerit malus servus 48. But and if that evil servant shall ille in corde suo moram facit dominus say in his heart, My lord delayeth his meus venire coming; 24:49 et coeperit percutere conservos 49. And shall begin to smite his suos manducet autem et bibat cum ebriis fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 24:50 veniet dominus servi illius in 50. The lord of that servant shall die qua non sperat et hora qua ignorat come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 24:51 et dividet eum partemque eius 51. And shall cut him asunder, and ponet cum hypocritis illic erit fletus appoint him his portion with the et stridor dentium hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. |
