And it came to pass, that when Iesus sermones istos migravit a Jesus had finished these sayings, he Galilaea et venit in fines Iudaeae departed from Galilee, and came into trans Iordanen the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan; 19:2 et secutae sunt eum turbae multae 2. And great multitudes followed him; et curavit eos ibi and he healed them there. 19:3 et accesserunt ad eum Pharisaei 3. The Pharisees also came unto him, temptantes eum et dicentes si licet tempting him, and saying unto him, Is homini dimittere uxorem suam quacumque it lawful for a man to put away his ex causa wife for every cause? 19:4 qui respondens ait eis non 4. And he answered and said unto them, legistis quia qui fecit ab initio Have ye not read, that he which made masculum et feminam fecit eos them at the beginning made them male and female, 19:5 et dixit propter hoc dimittet homo 5. And said, For this cause shall a patrem et matrem et adherebit uxori man leave father and mother, and shall suae et erunt duo in carne una cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 19:6 itaque iam non sunt duo sed una 6. Wherefore they are no more twain, caro quod ergo Deus coniunxit homo non but one flesh. What therefore God hath separet joined together, let not man put asunder. 19:7 dicunt illi quid ergo Moses 7. They say unto him, Why did Moses mandavit dari libellum repudii et then command to give a writing of dimittere divorcement, and to put her away? 19:8 ait illis quoniam Moses ad 8. He saith unto them, Moses because duritiam cordis vestri permisit vobis of the hardness of your hearts suffered dimittere uxores vestras ab initio you to put away your wives: but from autem non sic fuit the beginning it was not so. 19:9 dico autem vobis quia quicumque 9. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall dimiserit uxorem suam nisi ob put away his wife, except it be for fornicationem et aliam duxerit fornication, and shall marry another, moechatur et qui dimissam duxerit committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth moechatur her which is put away doth commit adultery. 19:10 dicunt ei discipuli eius si ita 10. His disciples say unto him, If the est causa homini cum uxore non expedit case of the man be so with his wife, it nubere is not good to marry. 19:11 qui dixit non omnes capiunt 11. But he said unto them, All men verbum istud sed quibus datum est cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. 19:12 sunt enim eunuchi qui de matris 12. For there are some eunuchs, which utero sic nati sunt et sunt eunuchi qui were so born from their mother's womb: facti sunt ab hominibus et sunt eunuchi and there are some eunuchs, which were qui se ipsos castraverunt propter made eunuchs of men: and there be regnum caelorum qui potest capere capiat eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it. 19:13 tunc oblati sunt ei parvuli ut 13. Then were there brought unto him manus eis inponeret et oraret discipuli little children, that he should put his autem increpabant eis hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. 19:14 Iesus vero ait eis sinite 14. But Jesus said, Suffer little parvulos et nolite eos prohibere ad me children, and forbid them not, to come venire talium est enim regnum caelorum unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. 19:15 et cum inposuisset eis manus 15. And he laid his hands on them, and abiit inde departed thence. 19:16 et ecce unus accedens ait illi 16. And, behold, one came and said magister bone quid boni faciam ut unto him, Good Master, what good thing habeam vitam aeternam shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 19:17 qui dixit ei quid me interrogas 17. And he said unto him, Why callest de bono unus est bonus Deus si autem thou me good? there is none good but vis ad vitam ingredi serva mandata one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 19:18 dicit illi quae Iesus autem dixit 18. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus non homicidium facies non adulterabis said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou non facies furtum non falsum shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt testimonium dices not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19:19 honora patrem et matrem et 19. Honour thy father and thy mother: diliges proximum tuum sicut te ipsum and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 19:20 dicit illi adulescens omnia haec 20. The young man saith unto him, All custodivi quid adhuc mihi deest these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 19:21 ait illi Iesus si vis perfectus 21. Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt esse vade vende quae habes et da be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, pauperibus et habebis thesaurum in and give to the poor, and thou shalt caelo et veni sequere me have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. 19:22 cum audisset autem adulescens 22. But when the young man heard that verbum abiit tristis erat enim habens saying, he went away sorrowful: for he multas possessiones had great possessions. 19:23 Iesus autem dixit discipulis suis 23. Then said Jesus unto his amen dico vobis quia dives difficile disciples, Verily I say unto you, That intrabit in regnum caelorum a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 19:24 et iterum dico vobis facilius est 24. And again I say unto you, It is camelum per foramen acus transire quam easier for a camel to go through the divitem intrare in regnum caelorum eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 19:25 auditis autem his discipuli 25. When his disciples heard it, they mirabantur valde dicentes quis ergo were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who poterit salvus esse then can be saved? 19:26 aspiciens autem Iesus dixit illis 26. But Jesus beheld them, and said apud homines hoc inpossibile est apud unto them, With men this is impossible; Deum autem omnia possibilia sunt but with God all things are possible. 19:27 tunc respondens Petrus dixit ei 27. Then answered Peter and said unto ecce nos reliquimus omnia et secuti him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and sumus te quid ergo erit nobis followed thee; what shall we have therefore? 19:28 Iesus autem dixit illis amen dico 28. And Jesus said unto them, Verily I vobis quod vos qui secuti estis me in say unto you, That ye which have regeneratione cum sederit Filius followed me, in the regeneration when hominis in sede maiestatis suae the Son of man shall sit in the throne sedebitis et vos super sedes duodecim of his glory, ye also shall sit upon iudicantes duodecim tribus Israhel twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 19:29 et omnis qui reliquit domum vel 29. And every one that hath forsaken fratres aut sorores aut patrem aut houses, or brethren, or sisters, or matrem aut uxorem aut filios aut agros father, or mother, or wife, or propter nomen meum centuplum accipiet children, or lands, for my name's sake, et vitam aeternam possidebit shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. 19:30 multi autem erunt primi novissimi 30. But many that are first shall be et novissimi primi last; and the last shall be first. |
