Then came to Jesus scribes and Hierosolymis scribae et Pharisaei Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, dicentes saying, 15:2 quare discipuli tui 2. Why do thy disciples transgress the transgrediuntur traditionem seniorum tradition of the elders? for they wash non enim lavant manus suas cum panem not their hands when they eat bread. manducant 15:3 ipse autem respondens ait illis 3. But he answered and said unto them, quare et vos transgredimini mandatum Why do ye also transgress the Dei propter traditionem vestram commandment of God by your tradition? 15:4 nam Deus dixit honora patrem et 4. For God commanded, saying, Honour matrem et qui maledixerit patri vel thy father and mother: and, He that matri morte moriatur curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 15:5 vos autem dicitis quicumque 5. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to dixerit patri vel matri munus his father or his mother, It is a gift, quodcumque est ex me tibi proderit by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 15:6 et non honorificabit patrem suum 6. And honour not his father or his aut matrem et irritum fecistis mandatum mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye Dei propter traditionem vestram made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 15:7 hypocritae bene prophetavit de 7. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias vobis Esaias dicens prophesy of you, saying, 15:8 populus hic labiis me honorat cor 8. This people draweth nigh unto me autem eorum longe est a me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 15:9 sine causa autem colunt me 9. But in vain they do worship me, docentes doctrinas mandata hominum teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 15:10 et convocatis ad se turbis dixit 10. And he called the multitude, and eis audite et intellegite said unto them, Hear, and understand: 15:11 non quod intrat in os coinquinat 11. Not that which goeth into the hominem sed quod procedit ex ore hoc mouth defileth a man; but that which coinquinat hominem cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. 15:12 tunc accedentes discipuli eius 12. Then came his disciples, and said dixerunt ei scis quia Pharisaei audito unto him, Knowest thou that the verbo scandalizati sunt Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? 15:13 at ille respondens ait omnis 13. But he answered and said, Every plantatio quam non plantavit Pater meus plant, which my heavenly Father hath caelestis eradicabitur not planted, shall be rooted up. 15:14 sinite illos caeci sunt duces 14. Let them alone: they be blind caecorum caecus autem si caeco ducatum leaders of the blind. And if the blind praestet ambo in foveam cadunt lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. 15:15 respondens autem Petrus dixit ei 15. Then answered Peter and said unto edissere nobis parabolam istam him, Declare unto us this parable. 15:16 at ille dixit adhuc et vos sine 16. And Jesus said, Are ye also yet intellectu estis without understanding? 15:17 non intellegitis quia omne quod 17. Do not ye yet understand, that in os intrat in ventrem vadit et in whatsoever entereth in at the mouth secessum emittitur goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 15:18 quae autem procedunt de ore de 18. But those things which proceed out corde exeunt et ea coinquinant hominem of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 15:19 de corde enim exeunt cogitationes 19. For out of the heart proceed evil malae homicidia adulteria fornicationes thoughts, murders, adulteries, furta falsa testimonia blasphemiae fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 15:20 haec sunt quae coinquinant 20. These are the things which defile hominem non lotis autem manibus a man: but to eat with unwashen hands manducare non coinquinat hominem defileth not a man. 15:21 et egressus inde Iesus secessit 21. Then Jesus went thence, and in partes Tyri et Sidonis departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. 15:22 et ecce mulier chananea a finibus 22. And, behold, a woman of Canaan illis egressa clamavit dicens ei came out of the same coasts, and cried miserere mei Domine Fili David filia unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O mea male a daemonio vexatur Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 15:23 qui non respondit ei verbum et 23. But he answered her not a word. accedentes discipuli eius rogabant eum And his disciples came and besought dicentes dimitte eam quia clamat post him, saying, Send her away; for she nos crieth after us. 15:24 ipse autem respondens ait non sum 24. But he answered and said, I am not missus nisi ad oves quae perierunt sent but unto the lost sheep of the domus Israhel house of Israel. 15:25 at illa venit et adoravit eum 25. Then came she and worshipped him, dicens Domine adiuva me saying, Lord, help me. 15:26 qui respondens ait non est bonum 26. But he answered and said, It is sumere panem filiorum et mittere canibus not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 15:27 at illa dixit etiam Domine nam et 27. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the catelli edunt de micis quae cadunt de dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from mensa dominorum suorum their masters' table. 15:28 tunc respondens Iesus ait illi o 28. Then Jesus answered and said unto mulier magna est fides tua fiat tibi her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it sicut vis et sanata est filia illius ex unto thee even as thou wilt. And her illa hora daughter was made whole from that very hour. 15:29 et cum transisset inde Iesus 29. And Jesus departed from thence, venit secus mare Galilaeae et ascendens and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; in montem sedebat ibi and went up into a mountain, and sat down there. 15:30 et accesserunt ad eum turbae 30. And great multitudes came unto multae habentes secum mutos clodos him, having with them those that were caecos debiles et alios multos et lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many proiecerunt eos ad pedes eius et others, and cast them down at Jesus' curavit eos feet; and he healed them: 15:31 ita ut turbae mirarentur videntes 31. Insomuch that the multitude mutos loquentes clodos ambulantes wondered, when they saw the dumb to caecos videntes et magnificabant Deum speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame Israhel to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. 15:32 Iesus autem convocatis discipulis 32. Then Jesus called his disciples suis dixit misereor turbae quia triduo unto him, and said, I have compassion iam perseverant mecum et non habent on the multitude, because they continue quod manducent et dimittere eos ieiunos with me now three days, and have nolo ne deficiant in via nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. 15:33 et dicunt ei discipuli unde ergo 33. And his disciples say unto him, nobis in deserto panes tantos ut Whence should we have so much bread in saturemus turbam tantam the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude? 15:34 et ait illis Iesus quot panes 34. And Jesus saith unto them, How habetis at illi dixerunt septem et many loaves have ye? And they said, paucos pisciculos Seven, and a few little fishes. 15:35 et praecepit turbae ut 35. And he commanded the multitude to discumberet super terram sit down on the ground. 15:36 et accipiens septem panes et 36. And he took the seven loaves and pisces et gratias agens fregit et dedit the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake discipulis suis et discipuli dederunt them, and gave to his disciples, and populo the disciples to the multitude. 15:37 et comederunt omnes et saturati 37. And they did all eat, and were sunt et quod superfuit de fragmentis filled: and they took up of the broken tulerunt septem sportas plenas meat that was left seven baskets full. 15:38 erant autem qui manducaverant 38. And they that did eat were four quattuor milia hominum extra parvulos thousand men, beside women and children. et mulieres 15:39 et dimissa turba ascendit in 39. And he sent away the multitude, naviculam et venit in fines Magedan and took ship, and came into the coasts of Magdala. |
