Then was Jesus led up of the spirit ab Spiritu ut temptaretur a diabolo into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 4:2 et cum ieiunasset quadraginta 2. And when he had fasted forty days diebus et quadraginta noctibus postea and forty nights, he was afterward an esuriit hungred. 4:3 et accedens temptator dixit ei si 3. And when the tempter came to him, Filius Dei es dic ut lapides isti panes he said, If thou be the Son of God, fiant command that these stones be made bread. 4:4 qui respondens dixit scriptum est 4. Jesus said unto him, It is written non temptabis Dominum Deum tuum again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 4:8 iterum adsumit eum diabolus in 8. Again, the devil taketh him up into montem excelsum valde et ostendit ei an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth omnia regna mundi et gloriam eorum him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 4:9 et dixit illi haec tibi omnia dabo 9. And saith unto him, All these si cadens adoraveris me things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 4:10 tunc dicit ei Iesus vade Satanas 10. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get scriptum est Dominum Deum tuum adorabis thee hence, Satan: for it is written, et illi soli servies Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 4:11 tunc reliquit eum diabolus et ecce 11. Then the devil leaveth him, and, angeli accesserunt et ministrabant ei behold, angels came and ministered unto him. 4:12 cum autem audisset quod Iohannes 12. And they straightway left their secuti sunt eum nets, and followed him. 4:21 et procedens inde vidit alios duos 21. And going on from thence, he saw fratres Iacobum Zebedaei et Iohannem other two brethren, James the son of fratrem eius in navi cum Zebedaeo patre Zebedee, and John his brother, in a eorum reficientes retia sua et vocavit ship with Zebedee their father, mending eos their nets; and he called them. 4:22 illi autem statim relictis retibus 22. And they immediately left the ship et patre secuti sunt eum and their father, and followed him. 4:23 et circumibat Iesus totam 23. And Jesus went about all Galilee, Galilaeam docens in synagogis eorum et teaching in their synagogues, and praedicans evangelium regni et sanans preaching the gospel of the kingdom, omnem languorem et omnem infirmitatem and healing all manner of sickness and in populo all manner of disease among the people. 4:24 et abiit opinio eius in totam 24. And his fame went throughout all Syriam et obtulerunt ei omnes male Syria: and they brought unto him all habentes variis languoribus et sick people that were taken with divers tormentis conprehensos et qui daemonia diseases and torments, and those which habebant et lunaticos et paralyticos et were possessed with devils, and those curavit eos which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. 4:25 et secutae sunt eum turbae multae 25. And there followed him great de Galilaea et Decapoli et Hierosolymis multitudes of people from Galilee, and et Iudaea et de trans Iordanen from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan. |
