dicens them, saying,

5:3 beati pauperes spiritu quoniam 3. Blessed are the poor in spirit: for

5:4 beati mites quoniam ipsi 4. Blessed are they that mourn: for

5:9 beati pacifici quoniam filii Dei 9. Blessed are the peacemakers: for

5:11 beati estis cum maledixerint vobis 11. Blessed are ye, when men shall
et persecuti vos fuerint et dixerint revile you, and persecute you, and
omne malum adversum vos mentientes shall say all manner of evil against

5:12 gaudete et exultate quoniam merces 12. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad:
vestra copiosa est in caelis sic enim for great is your reward in heaven: for
persecuti sunt prophetas qui fuerunt so persecuted they the prophets which

5:13 vos estis sal terrae quod si sal 13. Ye are the salt of the earth: but

5:16 sic luceat lux vestra coram 16. Let your light so shine before
hominibus ut videant vestra bona opera men, that they may see your good works,
