When he was come down from the secutae sunt eum turbae multae mountain, great multitudes followed him. 8:2 et ecce leprosus veniens adorabat 2. And, behold, there came a leper and eum dicens Domine si vis potes me worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou mundare wilt, thou canst make me clean. 8:3 et extendens manum tetigit eum 3. And Jesus put forth his hand, and Iesus dicens volo mundare et confestim touched him, saying, I will; be thou mundata est lepra eius clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 8:4 et ait illi Iesus vide nemini 4. And Jesus saith unto him, See thou dixeris sed vade ostende te sacerdoti tell no man; but go thy way, shew et offer munus quod praecepit Moses in thyself to the priest, and offer the testimonium illis gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. 8:5 cum autem introisset Capharnaum 5. And when Jesus was entered into accessit ad eum centurio rogans eum Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 8:6 et dicens Domine puer meus iacet in 6. And saying, Lord, my servant lieth domo paralyticus et male torquetur at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 8:7 et ait illi Iesus ego veniam et 7. And Jesus saith unto him, I will curabo eum come and heal him. 8:8 et respondens centurio ait Domine 8. The centurion answered and said, non sum dignus ut intres sub tectum Lord, I am not worthy that thou meum sed tantum dic verbo et sanabitur shouldest come under my roof: but speak puer meus the word only, and my servant shall be healed. 8:9 nam et ego homo sum sub potestate 9. For I am a man under authority, habens sub me milites et dico huic vade having soldiers under me: and I say to et vadit et alio veni et venit et servo this man, Go, and he goeth; and to meo fac hoc et facit another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. 8:10 audiens autem Iesus miratus est et 10. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, sequentibus se dixit amen dico vobis and said to them that followed, Verily non inveni tantam fidem in Israhel I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. 8:11 dico autem vobis quod multi ab 11. And I say unto you, That many oriente et occidente venient et shall come from the east and west, and recumbent cum Abraham et Isaac et Iacob shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, in regno caelorum and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. 8:12 filii autem regni eicientur in 12. But the children of the kingdom tenebras exteriores ibi erit fletus et shall be cast out into outer darkness: stridor dentium there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 8:13 et dixit Iesus centurioni vade et 13. And Jesus said unto the centurion, sicut credidisti fiat tibi et sanatus Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, est puer in hora illa so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. 8:14 et cum venisset Iesus in domum 14. And when Jesus was come into Petri vidit socrum eius iacentem et Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother febricitantem laid, and sick of a fever. 8:15 et tetigit manum eius et dimisit 15. And he touched her hand, and the eam febris et surrexit et ministrabat fever left her: and she arose, and eis ministered unto them. 8:16 vespere autem facto obtulerunt ei 16. When the even was come, they multos daemonia habentes et eiciebat brought unto him many that were spiritus verbo et omnes male habentes possessed with devils: and he cast out curavit the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 8:17 ut adimpleretur quod dictum est 17. That it might be fulfilled which per Esaiam prophetam dicentem ipse was spoken by Esaias the prophet, infirmitates nostras accepit et saying, Himself took our infirmities, aegrotationes portavit and bare our sicknesses. 8:18 videns autem Iesus turbas multas 18. Now when Jesus saw great circum se iussit ire trans fretum multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side. 8:19 et accedens unus scriba ait illi 19. And a certain scribe came, and magister sequar te quocumque ieris said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. 8:20 et dicit ei Iesus vulpes foveas 20. And Jesus saith unto him, The habent et volucres caeli tabernacula foxes have holes, and the birds of the Filius autem hominis non habet ubi air have nests; but the Son of man hath caput reclinet not where to lay his head. 8:21 alius autem de discipulis eius ait 21. And another of his disciples said illi Domine permitte me primum ire et unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go sepelire patrem meum and bury my father. 8:22 Iesus autem ait illi sequere me et 22. But Jesus said unto him, Follow dimitte mortuos sepelire mortuos suos me; and let the dead bury their dead. 8:23 et ascendente eo in navicula 23. And when he was entered into a secuti sunt eum discipuli eius ship, his disciples followed him. 8:24 et ecce motus magnus factus est in 24. And, behold, there arose a great mari ita ut navicula operiretur tempest in the sea, insomuch that the fluctibus ipse vero dormiebat ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 8:25 et accesserunt et suscitaverunt 25. And his disciples came to him, and eum dicentes Domine salva nos perimus awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 8:26 et dicit eis quid timidi estis 26. And he saith unto them, Why are ye modicae fidei tunc surgens imperavit fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he ventis et mari et facta est arose, and rebuked the winds and the tranquillitas magna sea; and there was a great calm. 8:27 porro homines mirati sunt dicentes 27. But the men marvelled, saying, qualis est hic quia et venti et mare What manner of man is this, that even oboediunt ei the winds and the sea obey him! 8:28 et cum venisset trans fretum in 28. And when he was come to the other regionem Gerasenorum occurrerunt ei duo side into the country of the habentes daemonia de monumentis Gergesenes, there met him two possessed exeuntes saevi nimis ita ut nemo posset with devils, coming out of the tombs, transire per viam illam exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. 8:29 et ecce clamaverunt dicentes quid 29. And, behold, they cried out, nobis et tibi Fili Dei venisti huc ante saying, What have we to do with thee, tempus torquere nos Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? 8:30 erat autem non longe ab illis grex 30. And there was a good way off from porcorum multorum pascens them an herd of many swine feeding. 8:31 daemones autem rogabant eum 31. So the devils besought him, dicentes si eicis nos mitte nos in saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us gregem porcorum to go away into the herd of swine. 8:32 et ait illis ite at illi exeuntes 32. And he said unto them, Go. And abierunt in porcos et ecce impetu abiit when they were come out, they went into totus grex per praeceps in mare et the herd of swine: and, behold, the mortui sunt in aquis whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. 8:33 pastores autem fugerunt et 33. And they that kept them fled, and venientes in civitatem nuntiaverunt went their ways into the city, and told omnia et de his qui daemonia habuerant every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils. 8:34 et ecce tota civitas exiit obviam 34. And, behold, the whole city came Iesu et viso eo rogabant ut transiret a out to meet Jesus: and when they saw finibus eorum him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts. |
