And the apostles and brethren that fratres qui erant in Iudaea quoniam et were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles gentes receperunt verbum Dei had also received the word of God. 11:2 cum ascendisset autem Petrus in 2. And when Peter was come up to Hierosolymam disceptabant adversus Jerusalem, they that were of the illum qui erant ex circumcisione circumcision contended with him, 11:3 dicentes quare introisti ad viros 3. Saying, Thou wentest in to men praeputium habentes et manducasti cum uncircumcised, and didst eat with them. illis 11:4 incipiens autem Petrus exponebat 4. Forasmuch then as God gave them illis Deus sicut et nobis qui the like gift as he did unto us, who credidimus in Dominum Iesum Christum believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what ego quis eram qui possem prohibere Deum was I, that I could withstand God? 11:18 his auditis tacuerunt et 18. When they heard these things, they glorificaverunt Deum dicentes ergo et held their peace, and glorified God, gentibus Deus paenitentiam ad vitam saying, Then hath God also to the dedit Gentiles granted repentance unto life. 11:19 et illi quidem qui dispersi 19. Now they which were scattered fuerant a tribulatione quae facta abroad upon the persecution that arose fuerat sub Stephano perambulaverunt about Stephen travelled as far as usque Foenicen et Cyprum et Antiochiam Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, nemini loquentes verbum nisi solis preaching the word to none but unto the Iudaeis Jews only. 11:20 erant autem quidam ex eis viri 20. And some of them were men of cyprii et cyrenei qui cum introissent Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they Antiochiam loquebantur et ad Graecos were come to Antioch, spake unto the adnuntiantes Dominum Iesum Grecians, preaching the LORD Jesus. 11:21 et erat manus Domini cum eis 21. And the hand of the Lord was with multusque numerus credentium conversus them: and a great number believed, and est ad Dominum turned unto the Lord. 11:22 pervenit autem sermo ad aures 22. Then tidings of these things came ecclesiae quae erat Hierosolymis super unto the ears of the church which was istis et miserunt Barnaban usque in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Antiochiam Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. 11:23 qui cum pervenisset et vidisset 23. Who, when he came, and had seen gratiam Dei gavisus est et hortabatur the grace of God, was glad, and omnes proposito cordis permanere in exhorted them all, that with purpose of Domino heart they would cleave unto the Lord. 11:24 quia erat vir bonus et plenus 24. For he was a good man, and full of Spiritu Sancto et fide et adposita est the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much turba multa Domino people was added unto the Lord. 11:25 profectus est autem Tarsum ut 25. Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, quaereret Saulum quem cum invenisset for to seek Saul: perduxit Antiochiam 11:26 et annum totum conversati sunt 26. And when he had found him, he in ecclesia et docuerunt turbam multam brought him unto Antioch. And it came ita ut cognominarentur primum to pass, that a whole year they Antiochiae discipuli Christiani assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. 11:27 in his autem diebus 27. And in these days came prophets supervenerunt ab Hierosolymis prophetae from Jerusalem unto Antioch. Antiochiam 11:28 et surgens unus ex eis nomine 28. And there stood up one of them Agabus significabat per Spiritum famem named Agabus, and signified by the magnam futuram in universo orbe Spirit that there should be great terrarum quae facta est sub Claudio dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar. 11:29 discipuli autem prout quis 29. Then the disciples, every man habebat proposuerunt singuli eorum in according to his ability, determined to ministerium mittere habitantibus in send relief unto the brethren which Iudaea fratribus dwelt in Judaea: 11:30 quod et fecerunt mittentes ad 30.
