22:1 viri fratres et patres audite 1. Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye
quam ad vos nunc reddo rationem my defence which I make now unto you.

22:4 qui hanc viam persecutus sum 4. And I persecuted this way unto the

22:6 factum est autem eunte me et 6. And it came to pass, that, as I
adpropinquante Damasco media die subito made my journey, and was come nigh unto
de caelo circumfulsit me lux copiosa Damascus about noon, suddenly there
shone from heaven a great light round
                                             about me.

22:7 et decidens in terram audivi 7. And I fell unto the ground, and
vocem dicentem mihi Saule Saule quid me heard a voice saying unto me, Saul,
persequeris Saul, why persecutest thou me?

22:8 ego autem respondi quis es Domine 8. And I answered, Who art thou, Lord?
dixitque ad me ego sum Iesus Nazarenus And he said unto me, I am Jesus of
quem tu persequeris Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.

22:9 et qui mecum erant lumen quidem 9. And they that were with me saw

qui loquebatur mecum they heard not the voice of him that
                                             spake to me.

22:10 et dixi quid faciam Domine 10. And I said, What shall I do, LORD?
Dominus autem dixit ad me surgens vade And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and
Damascum et ibi tibi dicetur de omnibus go into Damascus; and there it shall be
quae te oporteat facere told thee of all things which are
                                             appointed for thee to do.

22:11 et cum non viderem prae 11. And when I could not see for the
claritate luminis illius ad manum glory of that light, being led by the

                                             into Damascus.

22:12 Ananias autem quidam vir 12. And one Ananias, a devout man
secundum legem testimonium habens ab according to the law, having a good

                                             there,

22:13 veniens ad me et adstans dixit 13. Came unto me, and stood, and said
mihi Saule frater respice et ego eadem unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy

                                             upon him.

22:14 at ille dixit Deus patrum 14. And he said, The God of our
nostrorum praeordinavit te ut fathers hath chosen thee, that thou
cognosceres voluntatem eius et videres shouldest know his will, and see that
Iustum et audires vocem ex ore eius Just One, and shouldest hear the voice
                                             of his mouth.

22:15 quia eris testis illius ad omnes 15. For thou shalt be his witness unto
homines eorum quae vidisti et audisti all men of what thou hast seen and
                                             heard.

22:16 et nunc quid moraris exsurge 16. And now why tarriest thou? arise,

nomine ipsius sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

22:17 factum est autem revertenti mihi 17. And it came to pass, that, when I
in Hierusalem et oranti in templo fieri was come again to Jerusalem, even while
me in stupore mentis I prayed in the temple, I was in a

de me thy testimony concerning me.

22:19 et ego dixi Domine ipsi sciunt 19. And I said, Lord, they know that I

22:21 et dixit ad me vade quoniam ego 21. And he said unto me, Depart: for I

22:22 audiebant autem eum usque ad hoc 22. And they gave him audience unto
